One of the top overall prospects in Arizona's 2015 class of rising seniors is quickly off the recruiting board, after finding the right college home for himself early in the process.  Chaparral High School’s talented 6-foot-4 junior guard Kenzo Nudo has quickly developed over the past two years into one of the hottest prospects in the class.  While Nudo was looking to definitely grow his list of college suitors a great deal with a strong performance in the summer, he has decided to end his college recruitment early with a strong up-and-coming local basketball program in the WAC Conference.

After giving careful consideration to Santa Clara University and Grand Canyon University throughout his entire junior season, Nudo would decide to be a part of the rapid growth of Grand Canyon University - giving a verbal commitment to head coach Dan Majerle and his hard-working men's basketball staff.

The Grand Canyon staff is working hard to change the basketball landscape in Arizona, and the future signing of Nudo will be another major step in that direction.  Recently, the Lopes' staff landed the transfer rights to top-rated division-I transfer from Washington State - 6-foot-3 senior guard Royce Woolridge.

Nudo also chose GCU over scholarship offers from Northern Colorado, San Francisco, Portland, San Jose State and Northern Arizona University.  NAU head coach Jack Murphy and his staff decided to jump on him early in the recruiting process, becoming Nudo’s first scholarship offer.

Nudo has had a very good spring showing for himself thus far, while playing for his club program, the Arizona Power Black – a very loaded and talented group that already has one tournament championship under their belt this spring – the local Southwest Showcase Main Event.  This spring, Nudo has continued his development as a player and proven himself as one of the elite overall prospects in the class.

Congratulations to Nudo and his family on this amazing accomplishment from our staff here at Arizona Preps.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report:  Nudo is among the best pure shooters of the basketball in the 2015 class.  He has a strong ability to shoot the basketball with unlimited range on his shot, while also possessing a live body that allows him to make plays off the dribble as well.  He is deadly when catching and shooting the basketball, and has also shown a good ability to put the basketball on the floor and make plays as well.  He is a clutch shooter that shoots the basketball with superior confidence and is not afraid to take the big shot for his team – a nice quality.  Nudo is a good ball handler and passer, although he has not shown an ability yet to consistently play the point position for his team – something that he will need to continue to develop over time.  At his size, an ability to play both guard positions will suit him well at the collegiate level.  But he is very capable of playing the position, as needed.  Nudo is a solid defender and has good lateral quickness.  He seems to be working hard in this area of his game and plays with good energy and a great attitude on the floor, and has good overall work ethic.
