Pima Community College 6-foot-7 sophomore standout Mason Hunt had a big sophomore season for himself, as well as the Pima basketball program. Hunt became a very well desired prospect this spring, as numerous Division-I programs looked to land Hunt. While it was unclear as to which direction Hunt would ultimately land, Hunt decided that he had found his home under the leadership of Head Coach and Arizona basketball legend Mike Bibby and his coaching staff. Hunt recently gave a commitment to Bibby and his staff at Sacramento State, where he will now play his junior season and continue his playing career.

Hunt is coming off a tremendous sophomore campaign where he firmly established himself as one of the top overall performers in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) over the past two seasons, while helping lead one of the most dominant programs in the country. As a result of his strong play this season and his performance in the recent Division-II National Tournament, Hunt saw numerous Division-I college programs extend offers to him, before making his college decision.

Over the course of his two-year career at Pima, Hunt was the definition of winning. He helped guide the program to an incredible 70-2 overall record, along with back-to-back Region Titles and two appearances in the NJCAA Division-II National Tournament - an achievement that speaks volumes about both his impact and the culture of excellence surrounding the Pima basketball program.

On the national stage in Danville, Illinois, Hunt elevated his game even further. Competing against the top junior college talent in the country, he was among the most impressive overall performers at the NJCAA Division-II National Tournament - showcasing his ability to produce at a high level when the lights were brightest. His performance not only helped solidify his reputation, but also sparked a surge in college recruitment that continues to build momentum.

Hunt’s sophomore season numbers reflect both his consistency and versatility as a player. He averaged 18.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 47.9% from the field and 38.6% from three-point distance - numbers that place him among the most efficient perimeter scorers in the junior college ranks.

At 6-foot-7, Hunt brings a rare combination of size and shooting ability that makes him extremely difficult to defend. His ability to stretch the floor, score at multiple levels, and compete on both ends has made him one of the most attractive prospects in the country. Simply put—he is one of the best shooters in the nation at the JUCO level. But what separates Hunt even further is his mentality. He is a competitor. A winner. A player that consistently impacts winning basketball.

Congratulations to Hunt and his amazing family on this accomplishment, as well as Brian Peabody and his amazing coaching staff on their tremendous basketball program's success.
