One of the top junior college prospects in the country has found his next home. Arizona Western Junior College standout, 6-foot-6 sophomore Marsai Mason recently signed with Lindenwood University, giving the Lindenwood program one of the most productive and versatile players available in the junior college ranks. The addition of Mason represents an outstanding recruiting victory for the Lindenwood coaching staff and could prove to be one of the biggest steals of the recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-6 sophomore forward was one of the most dominant performers in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) this season, and established himself as one of the conference’s premier players. Mason averaged an impressive 16.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 51.4% from the field. At his best, Mason is a matchup nightmare. A highly athletic and versatile prospect, Mason excels in the half-court set, where his combination of size, mobility, and athleticism allows him to finish plays above the rim and create scoring opportunities. He is also very effective from the mid-range area and around the basket, where he consistently uses his strength and physical tools to produce at a high level. While he continues to work on extending his perimeter shooting range after connecting on just 26.8% of his three-point attempts this season, his overall skill-set and production make him a very intriguing prospect at the Division-I level.

Before his successful season at Arizona Western, Mason played at Cal Poly Humboldt, where he enjoyed a productive freshman campaign and continued to develop his game. Prior to his collegiate career, he attended PHH Prep in Arizona, where he established himself as one of the program’s top performers and gained valuable experience competing against elite competition. His basketball journey has not always followed a straight path, but his perseverance and commitment to improvement have paid tremendous dividends.

Mason’s story serves as an excellent example for young Arizona student-athletes hoping to continue their basketball careers at the collegiate level. His path included multiple stops and continued development, before ultimately reaching the success that has now earned him an opportunity at the Division-I level.

In addition to his accomplishments on the basketball floor, Mason plans to major in Kinesiology at Lindenwood University - further demonstrating his commitment to both academic and athletic success. Lindenwood is receiving a player who brings toughness, versatility, experience, and proven production. Based on what he accomplished this season with one of the nation’s top junior college programs, there is every reason to believe Mason can make an immediate impact at his new school.

Congratulations to Marsai Mason and his family on this tremendous accomplishment. Congratulations are also in order for the Arizona Western College basketball program, Head Coach Kyle Isaacs and his staff for helping develop another student-athlete into a Division-I signee.
