The annual Southwest Basketball Camp organized by Gregg Rosenberg was held over the past two days at The PHHACILITY located in South Phoenix. The two-day event featured more than (100) different high school prospects from around the state of Arizona and the Southwest. The event featured each participant in 3 - 4 different showcase games, and concluded with all-star games on day two. AZ Compass Prep's 6-foot-6 sophomore wing prospect Jalen White was selected as the Tournament Most Valuable Player for the camp, as a result of his strong play in the event - a nice honor for the young prospect.
Jalen White recently transferred to AZ Compass Prep, and he will look to have a big sophomore season now for Head Coach Erik Hood and the AZ Compass Prep Black program. While he is a mere 2026 prospect, White has the size, athleticism and skillset to suggest that he should blossom over time into a high-major Division-I prospect. He already has Division-I offers to his credit, as Washington and UNLV both have extended offers to White.
White is a bigger wing prospect that is still growing a great deal and still has room for natural maturity. He showcased his ability in the camp to finish in the open floor and also slash to the basket, while also displaying a nice ability to make shots and handle the ball. White is an offensive weapon the floor, and will only continue to improve a great deal over the next two years of development. White gives his AZ Compass Prep program a player to be excited about for the future, since he still has several years left in his high school career.
White will also look to make a nice splash in our next individual player rankings for the 2026 Class, now that he resides in Arizona. The addition of White to our previous rankings should make things very interesting.
I will continue to follow White as a player and as a college prospect this prep season, and look forward to bringing you more updates as they continue to develop.
