Glendale Junior College (7-8, 2-5) traveled to Scottsdale Junior College (7-5, 3-4) on Wednesday evening in an exciting match-up of two of the conference's top Division-II programs. With both programs looking to turn up their performance in conference play this junior college season, Glendale would put up an impressive 54 points in the game's first half, and take a big 54-26 lead into the half. Glendale would not look back - leading to a nice 76-64 road win.
Glendale has several prospects that impressed me on the evening, and have caught my attention this season at prospects that college programs need to take a very hard look at. Here are several 2024 prospects from the Glendale JC roster that are worthy of serious college recruitment . . .
Petar Lazic 6-9 SOPH PF/C Glendale Junior College (Glendale, Arizona) - 2024 Class
A very thin, lengthy post prospect that can play multiple front court positions, as he can defend 4's or 5's. An active low post defender that is a good shot-blocker. A good athlete for his size. Runs the floor hard. Has good work ethic. A good shooter with a soft touch from mid-range, and has good low-post skills with good footwork. An active rebounder that competes hard on the glass. An intriguing post prospect that has been consistent in his play this season, and looks to be an excellent sleeper prospect for the right college program. Really want to see more of him.
Tramane Lee 6-4 SOPH SG Glendale Junior College (Glendale, Arizona) - 2024 Class
Lee is a very good scorer of the basketball that has a knack for scoring the basketball. An athletic two-guard prospect with good size and a nice offensive skillset. He is a very good shooter with excellent range and a quick release on his shot. Can catch and shoot or shoot off the dribble. A very bouncy athlete that uses his athleticism to make plays on both ends of the floor. A good ball handler. Solid passer. A good defender that plays passing lanes. A strong finisher in the open floor. Having a breakout season this year's for Head Coach Ken Carrillo. Another very good sleeper prospect for the right college program .
Cameron Coraggio 6-3 SOPH SG Glendale Junior College (Glendale, Arizona) - 2024 Class
Coraggio is an excellent shooter of the basketball, and he has been since I first saw him at Horizon High School several years ago. Very consistent in his ability to make shots, whether open or under defensive pressure. Has unlimited range on his shot and a quick release. Stretches the defense. A good ball handler and passer. Fundamentally sound. Competes hard on the defensive end. An active rebounder from the guard position and plays bigger than his size suggest on the glass. A very underrated prospect that is having a strong season and is another good sleeper prospect for a smaller 4-year college program.
