ALA-Queen Creek High School is off to an mazing start to the season - posting an impressive 19-1 overall record. Led by the play of 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior combo-guard George Mihilli this season, the team is poised to make a strong run for this year's 4A State Championship. Mihilli has been regarded as one of Arizona’s top prospects in the 2026 class since early on, but after suffering a torn ACL last season, which kept him sidelined last year, George worked tirelessly to return. Now, fully recovered, he’s leading ALA Queen Creek to a stunning 19-1 start in the 4A Division , while averaging strong numbers and proving again why he is considered by our staff as one of the top prospects in the class.
Mihilli is among one of the state's premier athletes, as he is also a football star that is receiving loads of Division-I recruit for the sport. If he decides to play football in college, this young man has the potential to make it to the NFL in the future, but his true love is the sport of basketball. Mihilli will have a big decision to make, Or will he? He may elect to play both sports in college.
Currently, Mihilli is averaging 14.2 points, 3.4 assists and 4.5 rebounds this season for a well coached ALA Queen Creek team. He has been a versatile force for the program.
George’s herky-jerky style keeps defenders guessing, and his physical strength lets him score at will, whether in transition or while posting up smaller guards. Head Coach Luke Stuckey and staff have been key in his comeback, helping him reclaim his role as a leader.
Though his recruitment hasn’t matched his talent yet in basketball, his senior season might change that. Mihilli is a top-rated guard prospect that adjusts to the talent level he plays against. He is a top performer no matter who he takes the court with, as a result of his extreme competitiveness as a player. Whether it’s basketball or football, Mihilli is poised to excel.
We’ll keep following his journey, knowing big things are ahead for him. I look forward to following Mihilli for the remainder of the season and this spring, and will bring you updates as they begin to develop.
Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Mihilli is a point guard prospect with excellent athleticism and a high motor. He pushes the basketball hard and is a strong driver and finisher that applies pressure on opposing defenses, while also being able to score the basketball off the dribble or make shots from the perimeter, with a pure left-handed shooting stroke. He is a strong ball handler and can get to where he wants on the floor. He also sees the floor well and finds the open man, able to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates at a high rate. He is also a very good defender as well, and uses his athleticism and quickness to play passing lanes. Mihilli plays with a high level of confidence on the court and is a vocal leader for his team, on and off the court. A very good sleeper prospect.
