One of the top sophomore frontcourt prospects in the ACCAC has made his move. Pima College 6-foot-8 sophomore post Gabe Oldham, has committed to the University of Denver. His decision comes after a dominant season, in which he helped lead Pima College to the best record in school history and a #3 national ranking among NJCAA Division-II programs.
Pima College finished with an 18-0 record in ACCAC conference play and an overall record of 35-1. Oldham was a key force inside, averaging 13 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 63.4% from the field. Remarkably, he also shot 100% from three-point range this season, showcasing his efficient and versatile offensive game.
Beyond the numbers, Oldham brought toughness and leadership to the Aztecs’ lineup. He consistently defended multiple positions around the paint, controlled the glass, and made critical hustle plays that defined Pima’s defensive identity and gritty culture. His ability to rebound outside of his area, alter shots, and anchor the interior made him one of the most valuable players in the conference. His performance earned him All-ACCAC Division-II First Team honors.
Oldham now heads to the University of Denver, a Division-I program in the Summit League and led by new Head Coach Tim Bergstraser. The Pioneers finished the 2024–2025 season with an 11-21 overall record and a 5-11 mark in conference play. The addition of Oldham gives the Pioneers a strong interior presence, as they look to rise in the Summit League standings.
With his combination of size, athleticism, and physicality, Oldham is expected to contribute immediately. He’ll bring high-level junior college experience, a winning pedigree, and the intangibles needed to help turn around a Division-I program.
Gabe Oldham is a major pick-up for the University of Denver and should have a significant impact in the coming seasons as he transitions to the next level.
