Eastern Arizona Junior College (13-1, 5-0) has been on fire this junior college season, off to an almost undefeated start to the junior college season. Their only season loss coming at the hands of #1 nationally ranked Snow College (UT). With many big wins already this season under the programs' belt, Eastern Arizona looks to be the favorite this season to win another ACCAC Division-I Conference Title. This year's Eastern Arizona roster is loaded with Division-I talent at every position on the floor. Head Coach Cameron Turner has to be very pleased with the performance of 6-foot sophomore point guard Armari Carraway. Carraway has played at a very high level for Eastern Arizona this junior college season, and he is proving to college programs that is ready to help a program next season.
Carraway is playing the best basketball of his young career this junior college season, as he is averaging 14 points and 3.6 assists per/game, while shooting excellent numbers from the field, including 91% from the free-throw line. For his efforts this junior college season, Carraway has been selected as the ACCAC Division-I Player of the Week a couple times already this season.
Carraway is well deserving of serious college recruitment, and while he has yet to receive a Division-I offer, I believe they will soon be coming for this tremendous guard talent.
One of the elite prospects in Arizona's talented 2023 Class of prospects, Carraway previously moved to the state of Arizona from Fresno, California, and immediately exploded during his sophomore season - posting tremendous individual numbers throughout his career @ Tucson's Pueblo High School.
Carraway is a rare find among point guard prospects, as he is a fast and electric guard prospect that pushes the basketball hard and plays with a high level of confidence on the basketball court - on both ends of the floor. Carraway is an alpha-male that leads any chance he gets. Carraway resembles a young fighter and that of Floyd Weather, and he plays like it. He is tough and expects to be the best player on the floor whenever he takes the court. He knows he belongs and does not take a back seat to anyone. He is a floor general with the basketball in his hands and a facilitator that can score at a high level, which puts maximum pressure on opposing defenses. He pushes the basketball often up the floor, and is always looking to make a play off the dribble. An excellent ball handler and passer that sees the floor, and loves to create off the dribble - creating scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. He is a very good shooter of the basketball with range, and has an explosive first step to blow past defenders and finish in the lane, which he does quite well over and around bigger defenders.
Carraway has the potential to become a lock-down defender as well. He has very quick hands and feet and plays passing lanes. A complete guard prospect that is fundamentally sound and plays electric on the floor with swag.
Carraway and his Eastern Arizona teammates are currently the class of the ACCAC, and off to a very impressive start to the junior college season. I will continue to follow the play of Carraway and Eastern Arzona, as they look to win this year's ACCAC Division-I Conference Title.
