After a tremendous senior season for himself and recently seeing his recruitment take shape, Pinnacle High School's talented and sharp-shooting 6-foot-3 senior guard Bryce Ford has made his college decision, and will now sign a national letter of intent with the University of Toledo, after Ford announced his commitment to the program this weekend on social media in fine fashion.
Toledo Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk and his staff did an excellent job of recruiting Ford recently, extending an offer to the gifted guard prospect. Ford would accept the offer over other offers from Robert Morris, Northern Illinois, Regis University and Rockhurst.
Bryce Ford is a really nice talent at the guard position, and is coming off an excellent senior season for himself, where he led his Pinnacle High School program to the second round of this year's 6A State Playoffs, while averaging nice numbers on the season - posting 22.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2 assists per/game, although his assists numbers are sure to be higher. Ford's best effort this high school season came in a huge upset victory over #1 ranked Perry High School, when he exploded for a game-high 38 points in the his team's big 65-63 home victory. In the win Ford went off and seemed to make every contested or uncontested shot that he fired off in the game.
Ford also just had a strong performance on Friday in the Arizona High School All-Star Game Shootout, as he helped to lead his team to a 74-73, come-from-behind victory. In the contest, Ford made some big shots for his team down the stretch and showcased his ability to create off the dribble, and make shots with extreme range from the perimeter, as he has done throughout his high school career.
Congratulations to Ford and his family, as well as the Pinnacle and Factory club program and his close supporters on this amazing accomplishment.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Ford is a very skilled and poised guard prospect with good size and length from the point guard position. While he is much more of a scorer in high school, based on his level of competition, Ford will definitely see his time as a potential combo-guard in college, although able to play the point position full time, as a result of his ability to handle the ball and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Ford is an excellent scorer off the dribble that likes to create space for his shot, and then make shots with his pure left-handed shooting stroke with excellent range. Ford can make shots from anywhere on the floor, and also get a defender on their heels for scoring and assist opportunities. He has a strong handle of the basketball and can create shots. Ford is also a good rebounder from the guard position, as he has very good size as a guard. He is also a slick defender with quick hands and feet, and is able to play passing lanes and deflect passes. He has the potential to become an excellent defender over time.
