Brophy Prep’s athletic future shines brightly, and at the center of it all is 6-foot-4 junior guard Daylen Sharper, one of the most dynamic young athletes in America.
Sharper, a 6-foot-4 standout, has been a starter for Brophy Prep’s basketball program since his freshman season. As he heads into his senior year, he looks to conclude a brilliant high school basketball career in fitting fashion. On the football field, Daylen is considered the top wide receiver prospect in the country for the 2026 class, already boasting numerous high-major Division-I scholarship offers. On the basketball court, he helped lead Brophy Prep to the 6A State Championship this past season, and is regarded as one of the top junior prospects in Arizona’s 2026 class.
The son of former NFL star Darren Sharper, Daylen’s athletic bloodlines are undeniable. His physical tools, strength, athleticism, explosiveness and versatility, separate him from his peers. He is currently in the process of scheduling official visits to some of the nation’s top football programs and projects as a future NFL prospect if he stays on the football path.
In basketball, Daylen’s impact has been just as impressive. He is a strong, athletic, and versatile performer who can play and defend multiple positions. Sharper is an efficient scorer who can shoot with range, score off the dribble with a crafty style, and finish effectively in the paint with either hand. He plays with a high level of confidence, consistently makes big shots, and has performed at a high level since being a young prospect. In addition to his scoring ability, Daylen is a very good facilitator and a willing passer who plays the game the right way. His defensive prowess, energy, and ability to guard multiple positions were vital in Brophy’s championship run this past season.
Off the court, Daylen also shines in the classroom. His strong academic performance will only create more college opportunities for him, no matter which sport he ultimately chooses to pursue.
As the 2025-26 season approaches, Sharper will have a major decision to make - will he pursue football, basketball, or attempt to do both at the collegiate level?
