Brennan Peterson Getting It Done For Dream City

Dream City Christian Prep has been one of the elite prep programs in the country for many years now, and is having an excellent season this year. Dream City has everyone in America on notice currently, after numerous big wins this season, including a huge win over then #3 nationally ranked Utah Prep (UT), which featured the nation's top overall basketball prospect, 6-foot-9 senior AJ Dybantsa (BYU commit). Dream City is on another level this season, and a major reason for the success of the program has been the addition and consistent play of sharp-shooting 6-foot-1, 170-pound senior guard Brennan Peterson.

Peterson decided to transfer programs after last season, where he helped Notre Dame Prep to a very successful high school season as a junior. Peterson had an excellent high school career for himself at Notre Dame Prep. After entering the high school ranks as a top-rated middle school prospect three years ago, Peterson produced at a very high level throughout his high school career. The combination of Peterson, 6-foot-3 senior Bryce Quinet (Evansville signee) and ultra-athletic guard Anthony Batson (Stanford signee) was formidable, as the trio became an absolute force for the Notre Dame Prep program. Peterson was very consistent in his performances in all (3) seasons at Notre Dame Prep, as he averaged strong career numbers of 15.7 points, 3.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds per/game.

Now as a senior and playing for one of the top prep teams and programs in the country, and alongside some serious pro-level talent, Peterson is flourishing and has really made his impact with the group. Peterson has flat out shot the cover off the basketball thus far this prep season, and has been regarded among the top overall shooters and performers this season in the Grind Session, which is known consistently for producing high level players and intense competition.

"Everybody's journey is a little different, but we're glad we went down this path," said Mark Peterson, Brennan's father. "Watching other AIA games, it doesn't have the size, speed and strength he is seeing now. This is definitely making him better and preparing him for the next level."

Brennan is now also hearing from numerous college programs for his services as a college prospect. He will look to make his college decision this spring. It will be very interesting to see where he ultimately lands for college. Peterson received a huge University of Oregon offer as a mere freshman.

As a college prospect, Peterson is a strong floor general with an excellent feel for the game and a unique shooting prowess. He is a heady floor general that commands presence on the basketball court, is very efficient in his approach to the game and make plays for himself and his teammates consistently. Peterson reminds me of a young John Stockton, as he has an excellent handle of the basketball, sets up his teammates for scoring opportunities and makes shots at a high and consistent level. He is a specialist as a shooter - something all college programs need to be successful. He is very poised as a player, and nothing seems to rattle him on or off the floor. He is also a good defender with quick hands, and understand angles on the floor. He is fundamentally sound and makes up for his lack of size with a high basketball IQ. Peterson is a winner and makes every team he plays for do just that.

Peterson and his impressive Dream City Christian teammates are on a mission this prep season, and deserve much higher national respect among the nation's top prep programs and teams this season. Peterson has been a nice shot in the arm for Head Coach Kyle Weaver and his staff this season - providing a nice level of consistency in their backcourt. Something he will also do for the right college fit.

I look forward to watching Peterson this prep season, and will keep you posted as his college recruitment and continued exploits continue to develop.
