AZ Compass Prep's terrific 6-foot-5, 185-pound senior guard Vyctorius Miller is a tremendous talent and is regarded as a top-rated national prospect in America's 2024 Class - ranking among the top 50 national prospects in the class. With the end to the NCAA Early Recruiting Period finishing up this week, on the final day of the period, Miller announced his big decision for his future college program - announcing that he would select University of Oregon and Head Coach Dana Altman and his coaching staff for his future college home.
Miller's decision to select the Oregon Ducks was made in front of his family, friends, teammates and the faculty and students from AZ Compass Prep this week, as Miller chose Oregon over his final list of schools, which included USC, Gonzaga, LSU or deciding to play in the NBA's G-League. Last year, AZ Compass' Mookie Cook, a McDonald's All-American, also chose University of Oregon in his decision. Cook is currently a freshman for Oregon this season.
A native of North Hollywood, CA, where he played for Crean Lutheran High School (CA), Miller transferred to AZ Compass Prep last season, and played his junior season for AZ Compass. He has yet to suit up for AZ Compass Prep this season, but he did make his commitment on the school's campus, and it seems that he will soon be playing again for AZ Compass Prep this season.
Miller is coming off an excellent performance this past spring and summer, while traveling with his West Coast Elite (UA) U17 team. He had numerous big performances during the club season, highlighted by a strong performance at the Pangos All-American Camp in June.
Miller is a unique talent, as he has an excellent feel for the game and makes the game look quite easy. He plays at a good pace and also is very skilled - able to create off the dribble and make plays with excellent body control and athleticism. He is a high flyer with excellent length of body, and still growing a great deal, which will only see his game develop and mature with natural maturity and physical strength. Miller is an excellent shooter with nice range on his shot, which sets up his drives to the basket and the rest of his game. His ability to make plays is what truly what makes him special, and his handle allows him to get to anywhere he wants on the floor. He still has serious upside as a player and a very bright future ahead of him, for sure.
Congratulations to Miller and his family, as well as the AZ Compass Prep basketball program on another nice commitment and signing from their basketball program.
