One of the most promising young guard/wing prospects in the NCAA Transfer Portal has found a new home. Arman Madi, a talented 6-foot-7, 195-pound red-shirt sophomore from Northern Arizona University, has committed to Sacramento State University and will suit up next season for new Head Coach Mike Bibby and his staff.
Madi brings excellent versatility, size, and athleticism to the Hornets’ roster. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Madi starred at Brophy College Prep, where he was a key piece in leading the team to a 25-3 overall record during his senior season in the state’s top 6A Division. Known for his skillset and extreme versatility, Madi emerged as one of the top unsigned senior prospects in the West before signing with Northern Arizona.
In his freshman year at NAU, Madi was part of a deep Lumberjacks' roster and gained valuable experience in the Big Sky Conference. While his playing time was limited, he showed flashes of his ability and development throughout the season. With a fresh start and a new opportunity under Mike Bibby at Sacramento State, Madi is expected to see immediate playing time and play a key role for the Hornets.
Madi is a long, skilled wing who can defend multiple positions, and stretch the floor with his shooting. He is excellent in transition, plays with poise, and is a strong rebounder from the perimeter. His ability to play and guard both wing and forward spots gives Sacramento State great flexibility in their rotations.
Off the court, Madi is majoring in sports medicine and has demonstrated excellence in the classroom as well. While at NAU, he was recognized as a 2024 Golden Eagle Scholar-Athlete and a 2024 Big Sky All-Academic honoree.
Arman Madi is an absolute steal for Sacramento State, and will look to play major minutes in the Big Sky Conference as a sophomore. With his combination of talent, size and work ethic, Madi is poised for a breakout season next year under Coach Bibby’s leadership.
