Mountain Pointe High School's talented 6-foot-3 junior guard prospect Amarion Cash is a nice talent for Arizona's 2018 class of prospects. While still an unheralded prospect in the class, Cash has excellent potential as a college prospect. Cash emerged this past high school season and this spring as a nice guard prospect for a smaller college program. Also an excellent student, Cash is a complete student-athlete for the next level and excellent potential for the future.
This past high school season, Cash emerged - averaging 9.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per/game. Next season, while playing for new head coach, Duane Eason, Cash will play a much bigger role.
Eason has 17 years of experience coaching basketball at the high school, club and college levels and brings loads of coaching experience and development of players from New Jersey. Eason will push Cash to be the best player he can be over the next year of coaching him at Mountain Pointe HS.
The experience Cash also gains from playing for his club program, Powerhouse Hoops Red 17U, will also benefit him a great deal this club season.
As a result, Cash has the potential to develop nicely this off-season and develop into a serious recruiting target for smaller college programs. Cash has what it takes also, as he is very talented with a combination of good athleticism, and has the ability to make plays for himself and others.
Cash is a legitimate combo-guard prospect that is able to play both guard positions on the floor, and also has a nice overall feel for the game. He is a good shooter of the basketball with a nice, left-handed shooting stroke with range on his shot. He has very good body control and is able to make plays for himself off the dribble. A fundamentally sound performer, Cash is a solid overall guard prospect with nice potential for the future.
As a result of his promise as a student-athlete, Cash currently is hearing from numerous IVY League and Patriot League college programs. Such schools as Dartmouth, Harvard and Cornell have been in contact with Cash this spring.
Cash is also an excellent student and carries a 4.0 CUM GPA, which makes him a much even more attractive college prospect.
I will continue to follow the progress and recruitment of Cash closely and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
