The junior college season is winding down in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC), as Phoenix College (18-5, 14-1) continues to hold on to a narrow lead for first place in the conference, after two wins last week. Pima (21-2, 13-2) is in excellent position late in the season, currently in second place and playing their best basketball of the season.
Here are the Players of the Week in the ACCAC, as selected by the league . . .
ACCAC D-I Player of the Week: Danny Garrick - Sophomore - Central Arizona College
Garrick averaged 27.5 points and 8.0 rebounds, while shooting 63.3% from the field, including 13 for 20 from 3-point range in two conference games last week for Central Arizona. CAC went 1-1 this past week to move to 8-14 on the season and 4-11 in the ACCAC.
ACCAC D-II Player of the Week: Rashaad Goolsby - Sophomore - Phoenix College
For the second week in a row, Phoenix College 6-foot-6 sophomore forward Rashaad Goolsby averaged 31 points and 9 rebounds, while shooting 67.6% from the field and 91.7% from the free-throw line in two conference wins this past week - moving Phoenix to an impressive 18-5 on the season and 14-1 in the ACCAC.
