Majok Deng Receives Big Offer Early

Arizona's 2019 class of prospects have yet to play a high school basketball game in the state, but there are definitely some top-rated prospects in the group that are already receiving early attention for their strong ability to play the game and excellent potential for the future.  One of the elite projected prospects in the class is Salpointe Catholic High School's 6-foot-4 freshman wing Majok Deng.

Deng is a special young talent in the state, and college coaches are already taking notice.  This week, Deng received a big scholarship offer very early in the process, as the University of San Francisco made an offer to him for the future.  The offer from the West Coast Conference program was a very smart move, as Deng projects to become a high-major prospect in the future.

Deng is a high-major athlete with a serious motor.  He is very active on both ends of the court and plays with excellent confidence - his best attributes as a player.  Deng is a very good slasher and open court player, and is difficult for opposing defenders to keep off the glass.  He is a mis-match for defenders at this point in his young career, as he is able to play inside and out.

Deng is a good mid-range shooter, but still needs to develop his consistency from longer ranges on the court.  He is a solid ball handler and passer.  An excellent teammate, as he plays with reckless abandon and is a winner.  Deng is capable of becoming a lock-down defender over time - something that would suit him very nicely as a college prospect for the future.  He just needs to continue to focus in this area of his game to maximize his potential.

While it is still very early for this class of prospects, Deng has already proven to be one of the elite prospects in the class.  This young man has a very bright future ahead of him and I look forward to watching him play over the next four years.
