Girl's basketball has really grown in the state of Arizona, and much of that reason is a result of the many top-rated prospects that the state now has for college coaches to take a hard look at. One prospect that is helping the state's reputation nationally is AZ Compass Prep's talented and skilled 6-foot-1 rising senior guard Kiya Dorroh. Dorroh is fresh off leading the Sabino program to a second-consecutive 3A State Championship, and is currently rated by ESPN among the elite prospects in America's 2021 Class.

Dorroh is among the nation's top overall 2021 prospects - currently rated by ESPN as the #49 prospect overall in the country, an amazing honor for an Arizona prospect and a rating that brings a lot of attention to Arizona girl's basketball. Several top 2021 girl's prospects in the state received Top 100 rankings by ESPN, and Dorroh checks in at the highest ranking among Arizona 2021 prospects.

Dorroh is a superb talent with very good size for the guard position, which allows her to see over the defense and make plays for herself and her teammates. She is very skilled and has a nice shooting stroke with excellent range, and an ability to put the basketball on the floor and make plays. A very good scorer off the dribble, Dorroh has a strong mid-range game and is very effective in the lane and around the paint, with her ability to finish strong at the basket. She can score at all three levels and is a threat to score from anywhere on the floor.

She is also a very good ball handler and has very good versatility as a player, which allows her to play several positions on the floor. She is a very good slasher and finisher in the lane, and also very good in the open floor where she creates scoring options for her team. She is a facilitator with the basketball in her hands. Dorroh is also a strong rebounder as well from the guard position, and an excellent defender that plays passing lanes quite well, making it difficult for opposing teams to set up their offense.

Last season as a junior, Dorroh averaged 15.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 steals per/game, while leading her former Tucson program to a strong 28-4 overall record on the season and the 3A State Championship, the program's second-consecutive state title.

Dorroh decided to transfer programs recently, and this season will look to lead a loaded AZ Compass Prep girl's basketball program, under new Head Coach Jamaal Rhodes, who previously led Sabino HS. Numerous other top-rated girl's prospects will be joining Dorroh at AZ Compass Prep this season, as Seton Catholic sophomore guard LeeLee Willis, Hamilton junior forward Samara Curry, Tucson Sabino sophomore guard Kam'Ren Rhodes and Sabino junior guard Kamryn Doty have each announced their transfer to the program, as well as numerous other top-rated girls prospects.

One of the highest sought after recruiting targets in America's 2020 Class, Dorroh recently gave an early verbal commitment to play for the University of Missouri. She chose Missouri and Head Coach Robin Pingeton and her coaching staff over offers from North Carolina, Kansas, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Texas, Utah and San Diego State, to name a few.

Dorroh is a big-time talent and will look to play immediately in college, but she still has another full year of high school to lead a loaded AZ Compass Prep group next season. Hopefully she will get the opportunity.

Congratulations to Dorroh from our Arizona Preps' staff on an excellent high school career thus far, and her tremendous accomplishments on and off the basketball court. She is truly helping create more recruitment opportunities for Arizona girl's basketball in the state.
