I had the pleasure of attending the lady's basketball game between Poston Butte and Peoria High School on President’s Day. Though it was a holiday, I felt I was in for a treat to witness a nice contest between two scrappy programs. From the warm-ups, one prospect caught my attention. As I looked up the roster on MaxPreps, I found out her name was Britany Kogbara. I thought to myself, is she related to former Peoria and current Dream City Christian senior forward Kevin Kogbara. Come to find out, she is the younger sister of Kevin.

Standing at 5-foot-11, sophomore forward Britany Kogbara possesses good size and athleticism for her position. She showed a big presence on the inside with her rebounding ability on both ends. She displayed she can score at the low post and doesn’t shy away from contact. I liked her basketball IQ, as she always seems to be at the right place at the right time.

Currently, she is averaging 14.2 points, 18.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.8 blocks per/game.

My honest assessment is she is a hidden gem prospect with a lot of upside. I feel she is a solid D-2 prospect currently, with a high ceiling. But she is only a sophomore, and with continued development, I think she could be a low to mid-major D-1 prospect.

I look forward to following her career as she has a bright future.
