The West Coast Elite Basketball organization had a huge week in the state of Arizona last week, as the organization moved each of their events, normally scheduled in the state of California, to the state of Arizona - due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a nice addition to the many events that are already being held in the state, as the group held (5) different events. Our Arizona Preps' staff attended each of the events, and enjoyed attending the West Coast Elite Top 100 events for boys and girls. While there were very few Arizona prospects that actually attended the events (boys and girls), here are my top individual performers/prospects from the Girls Top 100 event, continuing with the underclassmen . . .

Jaiya Mix 5-7 SOPH Etiwanda High School (CA) - 2023 Class

Mix (pictured) was among the elite overall prospects and performers in the event. An excellent combo-guard prospect that can plays both guard positions on the floor, and at a high level. A skilled guard prospect that makes the game look easy. An excellent shooter and scorer, a complete guard prospect. Has very good range on her shot and can make open or contested shots. Has a quick release on her shot. A strong driver and finisher off the dribble that is very smooth. A very good creator and facilitator with the basketball in her hands. A strong passer that sets up her teammates and sees the floor well. Pushes the ball up the floor. An excellent one-on-one defender with quick hands and feet. Solid rebounder, but needs to focus more in this area to maximize her potential over time. An impressive guard prospect that is an elite-high major prospect in the 2023 Class.

Tina Nijke 6-0 SOPH Skyline High School (UT) - 2023 Class

A strong post prospect with very good size early, and still growing a great deal. Was one of the elite overall prospects in the event. An active post player that rebounds hard and uses her length and size to bully opposing post players. A very good shotblocker that blocks and changes shots consistently. Runs the floor hard and finishes well in transition. Has a soft touch from the perimeter and still developing her offensive skillset, but will develop over time. Has solid low post skills, but is still raw offensively. Has good upside and potential for the future. A big-time prospect over time.

Ella Kaleta 5-8 SOPH Bothell High School (WA) - 2023 Class

A very skilled young prospect with an advanced feel and skill level for the game. Very aggressive and competes hard. Has very good toughness and will develop much more with maturity. Does the intangibles that helps teams win. Has an excellent shooting stroke with very good form on her shot and range. A very good ball handler that can play both guard positions. Very versatile offensively. A very good and willing passer that simply knows how to play the game. One of my favorite prospects in the event. Has a very bright future.

Makiah Asidanya 5-8 SOPH Salesian College Prep (CA) - 2023 Class

A skilled ball handler with good size for the guard position. A good creator off the dribble for her teammates. A strong driver with the basketball in her hands and a good finisher at the basket. Good scorer in transition. A solid shooter of the basketball, but needs to add consistency from longer ranges. Active rebounder. Good one-on-one defender.
