The West Coast Elite Basketball organization had a huge week in the state of Arizona last week, as the organization moved each of their events, normally scheduled in the state of California, to the state of Arizona - due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a nice addition to the many events that are already being held in the state, as the group held (5) different events. Our Arizona Preps' staff attended each of the events, and enjoyed attending the West Coast Elite Top 100 events for boys and girls. While there were very few Arizona prospects that actually attended the events (boys and girls), here are my top individual performers/prospects from the Boy's Top 100 event, concluding with the underclassmen . . .
Baye Fall 6-11 SOPH Lutheran High School (CO) - 2023 Class
The best overall prospect in the event with a big-time future ahead. Fall (pictured) is a super long and rangy prospect that is capable of playing all front-court positions on the court. He is very skilled for his size and age, and will develop into a Top 10 national prospect in the 2023 Class. Plays with an excellent motor and activity. His length allows him to finish everything around the basket. Runs the floor hard. A good shooter that has range already. An excellent low-post scorer and finisher. Dunks everything - over and around low-post defenders. Excellent shotblocker. Active rebounder. A future NBA Lottery draft pick. Has offers from Kansas, Illinois, Memphis, Georgia, Georgetown and Minnesota.
Majok Chuol 6-11 FR Academy of Sports (CA) - 2024 Class
A very long and rangy post prospect with excellent mobility. Runs the floor well for his size. An active rebounder and defender. Left hander. Has good hands and feet. OK shooter, still raw offensively. A good overall athlete. Strong finisher. Has major upside and potential for the future.
Osiris Grady 6-8 SOPH Coronado High School (NV) - 2023 Class
Had a breakout performance in this event. A very tall and skilled stretch 4-man prospect with a good overall skill level and an ability to score inside and out. A very good shooter that has range, and keeps defenses honest. A strong ball handler and creator off the dribble. A strong finisher at the rim. A good low post defender and plays passing lanes. Can facilitate as a post prospect. Has good low post skills. Has very good upside. Will develop into a 3/4 prospect over time. Had the dunk of the event over the nation's top prospect, Chet Holmgren. A nice looking young prospect.
Jayden Harper 6-7 FR Bishop Alemany High School - 2024 Class
A very skilled wing prospect with excellent size already. A very good ball handler and creator off the dribble. A good facilitator that can create open shots for himself and his teammates. Very unselfish. A good shooter with range on his shot. A wing prospect that is capable of playing as a 2 or 3 over time. A solid rebounder. Active defender. Has a bright future.
Andrew Meadow 6-7 SOPH West Ranch High School (CA) - 2023 Class
A big-time young prospect that competes at a high level with an excellent motor. Plays all over the floor, and simply gets a lot done. A stat-sheet stuffer. An excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor. A strong finisher at the rim and around defenders. A strong slasher. A good shooter with some range, but needs to add consistency. A good ball handler and passer. Has a Washington State offer already. Has a bright future and is one of the top 2023 prospects in the West.
Assane Diop 6-10 SOPH Belleview Christian (CO) - 2023 Class
Diop is a very long and athletic post player that runs the floor hard and competes. An active low-post prospect with very good work ethic. Still raw offensively, but will get better. Has serious upside. Active rebounder and shotblocker. Has an offer from the University of Illinois.
