The semi-finals are now set for girl's basketball in the Division-I Class in the state of Arizona, after Tuesday's quarterfinal playoff action at Wells Fargo Arena.  Tuesday's games will now set the stage for an exciting semi-finals on Friday evening.  Leading the way Tuesday was top-ranked Desert Vista High School (28-2) who would waltz past Mountain Pointe 61-45.

After building an early 22-7 first quarter lead over Mountain Pointe, Desert Vista would not look back in the game.

4 junior post Kristine Anigwe (Cal commit), the team's leading scorer, was in foul trouble for much of the game.  As a result, Desert Vista's tremendous backcourt of star junior guard high 17 points in the first half, and Wolph put up 12 in the second half to finish with 14.

Desert Vista will now face Dobson HS on Friday evening, in the most exciting match-up of the high school season.

Dobson (30-2) defeated Millennium HS on Tuesday evening in overtime, 68-62.   After Millennium built an early, but a narrow lead in the game, Dobson would outscore Millennium 22 to 17 in the final period to push the game to overtime.  In overtime, Dobson would score the first 7 points to help them finish off the victory.

Dobson senior guard Miyah Leith finished the contest with a game-high 20 points in the win.

In the other semi-final match-up, Westview and Hamilton HS will face off, after Westview blew past Chaparral HS, 55-23, and a tough Hamilton team upset one of the state's top teams, Mesquite HS, 46-41.  Hamilton's win will allow them to reach their third consecutive state semi-finals in a row - an amazing accomplishment for one of the state's elite girl's programs.
