According to sources close to the Arizona Elite girl's club program, Corona Del Sol HS 5-foot-7 rising senior guard Taylor Kalmer is now off the recruiting board after giving a verbal commitment to a college program in the PAC-12 Conference.
Kalmer is one of the top guard prospects in Arizona’s 2015 class, and is coming off a strong junior season where she put up impressive numbers for a team that would finish 16-12 on the season. Kalmer emerged as one of the top overall prospects in Arizona’s junior class with her performance this past season, and has continued her strong play through the club season.
After a strong spring performance with her club program, Arizona Elite, Kalmer began to generate serious high-major interest, and now has given a verbal commitment to Oregon State University. Oregon State has done an excellent job as of late, in recruiting the state of Arizona's top girl's prospects - landing Pinnacle HS star guard Sydney Wiese last season.
Kalmer has created a nice one-two punch this club season with the talented and dominant Desert Vista High School 6-foot-4 senior post Kristine Anigwe (Cal commit).
As a junior, Kalmer averaged 20 points and 3 assists per/game for head coach Andrew Strom, and will look to return next high school season and become one of the premier scorers of the basketball in the state.
Kalmer is a hard-working and gifted guard prospect that is an excellent shooter of the basketball and has a nice overall feel for scoring the basketball. She is a strong ball handler and can create her own shot off the dribble. She plays with very good intensity and is a leader on the basketball court. Kalmer has developed as a playmaker from the point guard position, and will need to continue to develop in this area to reach her full potential as a player.
Congratulations to Kalmer and her family from our staff here at Arizona Preps on her commitment!
