Mesa Dobson High School's 6-foot-5 rising senior guard prospect Jaron Hopkins is coming off a strong showing at this year's Adidas Invitational in Indiana.

With the July evaluation period beginning recently and after just the first week of the evaluation period, numerous prospects from the state of Arizona have had very strong showings thus far and at different AAU/club events across the country.

First of all, Dobson High School 6-foot-5 rising senior transfer Jaron Hopkins is coming off an excellent showing at last week's Adidas Invitational in Indiana.  At the event, Hopkins ranked among the top individual scorers in the event and showcased his superb athleticism - playing well above the rim.

Already possessing numerous scholarship offers on the table for himself, Hopkins was tracked in the event by college coaches from such schools as UCLA, USC, Colorado, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, and Nebraska ...

In Los Angeles, CA last week while participating in the Pangos Sweet 16 tournament, Westview HS 6-foot-8 rising junior forward Andre Adams absolutely blew up, as he was featured nationally on the Rivalshoops.com website, as a result of his strong play in the event.  Adams, while playing for his Arizona Magic Elite 16U team and coached by Gino Crump, showcased his length and versatility as a prospect - blocking numerous shots and bursting for a 30-point effort in his final game of the event.

Adams is now hearing from numerous college programs, but should begin to attract many high-major division-I programs as a result of his promise as a prospect and upside for the future.  Arizona State, Washington State and Oregon State all seem to be now in hot pursuit of the talented young prospect ...

Corona Del Sol HS 6-foot-2 rising junior point guard Casey Benson is coming off a very good showing in his first AAU/club event with his new team, the Double Pump Elite 16U squad.  Behind the strong play of Benson, the Double Pump Elite would win the 16U Division of last week's Adidas Three Stripes event in CA.  Benson is currently being followed by coaches from such schools as Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, Saint Mary's and Boise State ...

Pinnacle HS 6-foot-4 rising junior guard/forward Dorian Pickens and Marcos De Niza HS 6-foot-4 rising senior guard/forward Richaud Gittens both fared very well last week while playing for their club program, the Arizona Stars.  Both prospects have had excellent spring performances and continue to generate interest from new college programs.

Weber State has already offered Gittens and is in hot pursuit of the talented wing prospect, while Pickens also recently participated in the Nike Top 100 event in June and continues to impress a great deal with his play ...

Westwind Prep Academy's 6-foot-2 rising junior guard Tate de Laveaga, 6-foot-9, 225-pound rising junior post Connor MacDougall and Perry HS 5-foot-10 rising junior point guard Jordan Howard each are coming off excellent performances in last week's Adidas Three Stripes event in Anaheim, CA.  Each prospect impressed many division-I college coaches in attendance during the event and have raised their recruiting stock a great deal.

After his play in the event, Howard received his second scholarship offer this off-season and first division-I offer, as Northern Arizona's staff offered the talented guard prospect.  Howard also recently received an offer from Grand Canyon University ...

Shadow Mountain HS 6-foot-2 rising senior guard Keegan Hansen had a nice performance for himself last week in the Pangos Sweet 16 in Los Angeles, CA.  Hansen led his club program, the Arizona Rebels, to the Consolation Championship of the event - scoring 18 points in the championship game.  The Rebels finished with a 3-1 record in the event.
