Montana State University has completed the trifecta, as their coaching staff has received verbal commitments from three different Arizona prospects this fall. The latest to give a verbal commitment to head coach Brian Fish and his staff is Liberty High School's 6-foot-5 senior wing prospect Quentin Guliford. Guliford gave his pledge on Saturday evening to the Big Sky program.
Guliford is one of the better sleeper prospects in Arizona's 2018 class and had a very good showing for himself this spring and summer. As a result of his recent success on the club circuit, Guliford received loads of interest from many college programs. In the end, he found his fit with Montana State.
Guliford showcased his length, athleticism and ability to defend several positions on the floor throughout the club season. His ability to defend, and his unique length and athleticism make him an asset on the basketball court, where he is able to defend the opposing team's better offensive talents.
Last season, as a junior for a talented Liberty team, Guliford averaged modest numbers - 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per/game. I expect these numbers to significantly increase during his final senior season. Especially if his performance this spring and summer is any indication.
Guliford is also an excellent student with a 4.0 CUM GPA, and he is a full academic qualifier.
Guliford will join former Arizona prospect Jared Martin (Prolific Prep) and Hillcrest Prep's Zeke Quinlan as part of Montana State's 2018 recruiting class.
Congratulations to Guliford on this amazing accomplishment and also the Liberty HS program and head coach Mark Wood, and The Factory club program.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Guliford has been one of the best surprise performers of the club season. The athletic wing prospect has an excellent ability to finish plays at the rim, and can score with either hand in traffic. He has excellent length on his rangy frame and plays much bigger than his size suggests. Runs the floor extremely well and is an excellent finisher in traffic. A good shooter from mid-range and a capable three-point shooter. An active rebounder and shotblocker. A solid ball handler and passer. Plays with a high motor. A serious sleeper prospect that will make a smaller college program very happy.
