Poston Butte has only been open since 2009, however under the leadership of Head Coach Savannah Bix, the program has made history by qualifying for the playoffs last season and winning a Region Championship. There is no surprise that 2023 5-foot-7 senior guard Adriana Bachman has scored 1,000 career points in her high school career.
I had the pleasure to watch Bachman compete over the last three seasons and she is one of my favorite prospects in the state, simply because of her toughness. Bachman is a relentless competitor on both ends of the floor. I have seen her put her team on her back and carry them to compete in games.
Bachman is a play-making three-level scorer. Her toughness on both ends of the court provide value to her team. She plays so hard and produces, and that makes it hard for her to come off of the floor. I like her ability to get down-hill and attack. She has good finishing ability and finishes through contact.
Currently she has offers from Pima Community College and the University of the Southwest. I anticipate her to garner more interest and offers in the Spring. She is a solid prospect with a lot of upside.
If she were to choose the JUCO route, with continued development and production, Bachman's stock will be a hot commodity for 4-year schools.
