The exciting annual Pangos Full-Court Press All-West Camp, which usually takes place in Los, Angeles, California, and has for 20+ years, was moved this year to St. George, Utah, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tournament Director Dinos Trigonis brought together one of his best installments of the camp ever last weekend in Utah, as (240) different basketball prospects came together to compete in front of the numerous regional scouts and media in attendance. Prospects from such states as Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Wyoming, Missouri and Maryland all competed over the two day camp.
Arizona Preps made the trip to this year's event, and covered the event from start to finish. Here are many of the top individual performers, and there were many, that caught my attention during the camp, starting with the top upperclassmen prospects from this year's camp (In no particular order) . . .
Collin Chandler 6-4 JR SG Farmington HS (UT) - 2022 Class
Chandler was selected as the Camp's Most Valuable Player, after a strong performance in the event and the Top 30 All-Star Game. Chandler is a big-time athletic talent that reminds me of a young Rex Chapman (NBA). He has a long athletic frame that allows him to make plays at a high clip in the open floor, and while slashing to the basket. Plays with reckless abandon. An excellent shooter with unlimited range on his shot and a quick release. A volume shooter that makes shots at a high rate, and with defenders draped all over him. An active rebounder for his size, and pushes the ball on the break. Excellent finisher. A good defender that plays passing lanes. Plays with excellent energy. A high-level 2022 prospect that will blow up after this performance.
Devon Barnes 6-1 SR PG St. Frances Academy (MD) - 2021 Class
Barnes is a quick and athletic point guard prospect with a superb handle of the basketball and a nice ability to create off the dribble and finish strong in the lane. He has a nice looking shooting stroke with range. An exceptional ball handler and passer. Floor general with command presence. Excellent on-the-ball defender. Has command presence on the floor. Nice PG prospect that can play immediately at the collegiate level.
Reece Dixon-Waters 6-5 SR SG/SF St. Bernard HS (CA) - 2021 Class
A strong, well-built and put together 2/3 prospect with excellent command-presence on the court and an ability to make plays at a high clip with the basketball in his hands. Able to make shots with a nice shooting stroke with excellent range, and an ability to make plays off the dribble and finish from mid-range or on strong drives to the basket. Gets to the free-throw line quite often. A physical guard with a soft touch. A good ball handler and facilitator at his size. A strong rebounder from the wing position. A strong finisher. Good in the open floor. A very versatile prospect with serious potential for the future.
Ring Malith 6-9 JR SF/PF Renaissance Academy HS (CA) - 2022 Class (Pictured)
A very long and thin but very active wing prospect that can play inside and out. Still very thin physically, but he makes up for it with his length and activity on the floor. Plays with a great motor. Active on both ends of the floor. A slasher and open court player, but also able to get it done in the half-court set. A very good shooter with excellent range on his shot. Has a very good overall skill level. A good low-post scorer with activity. An active rebounder and shotblocker. Runs the floor hard and is a very good finisher. Has huge upside and a very bright future.
Ethan Speaker 6-6 SF SR Boulder City HS (NV) - 2021 Class
Speaker is a very strong and athletic 3/4 prospect with excellent bounce off the floor. A strong finisher around the rim, and capable of finishing strong over bigger low-post defenders. A strong and active rebounder. A good shooter with nice range and a soft touch out past the arc. Gets a lot done. Runs the floor and is very strong in the open court, where he looks to make plays. An immediate impact performer.
Jeremiah Nyarko 6-8 JR PF St. John Bosco HS (CA) - 2022 Class
Was selected as CO-MVP of the Top 30 All-Star Game. A bigger and athletic stretch 4-man with a nice shooting stroke and a good sized frame that makes him very attractive. Athletic and a strong finisher around the basket. Active rebounder and shotblocker. Runs the floor hard and is a good finisher. A good overall defender. Has good low-post footwork and agility. A nice looking prospect with upside for the future.
Aaron Price 6-7 JR SF/PF Liberty HS (NV) - 2022 Class
Price is an athletic 3/4 prospect with strong finishing ability. A good slasher and finisher that uses his length and athleticism to make plays. Has good size and length. Very good in the open floor. A good shooter with a soft touch from the perimeter. An intriguing prospect with upside.
JQ Strong 6-7 JR SF/PF St. Bernard HS (CA) - 2022 Class
Strong is another athletic and talented bigger wing prospect that is capable of playing inside and out. A very skilled prospect with nice length of body and upside for the future. Has a good overall skill level. A good ball handler and passer. Good facilitator. Has bright future.
Quintin Webb 6-6 JR SF San Ysidro HS (CA) - 2022 Class
Webb has a very good sized physical frame with good overall strength. Very athletic performer. A strong finisher around the basket. A very good passer that sees the floor. Has a good shooting stroke with range. A good ball handler. Good overall skill level.
AJ Storr 6-6 JR SF Bishop Groman HS (NV) - 2022 Class
A very skilled wing prospect with a very good shooting stroke and a nice handle of the basketball. A good creator off the dribble. Has very good size for the wing position. Has very good athleticism. A good passer that sees the floor and can create scoring opportunities for himself and others. A good rebounder. Competes. Has a good overall feel.
Wilhelm Breidenbach 6-9 SR PF Mater Dei HS (CA) - 2021 Class
A bigger post player that could play both the 4 and 5 positions on the floor. Has excellent length and size and is a good shotblocker and an active rebounder. A strong finisher. Runs the floor hard and is a good finisher in transition. Runs from block to block. A good low-post defender. Has serious upside for the future. His offense should develop over time.
Daniel Rouzan 6-8 SR PF Bishop Gorman HS (NV) - 2021 Class
A big-body low-post player with a college-ready body and excellent size for the power forward position. A strong and active rebounder. A good athlete for his size. A good finisher around the basket. Has a good overall skill level. Runs the floor hard and is a good finisher. A good shotblocker. Good low post scorer with a soft touch from the perimeter. A good looking prospect.
Mouhamed Mbaye 6-8 SR PF Colorado Prep HS (CO) - 2021 Class
A man among boys physically. A very strong and ultra-athletic power forward prospect with a high-major college-ready body and athleticism that allows him to finish strong around the paint and over defenders. Very physical and enjoys physical contact. Capable ball handler and playmaker also for his size. Gets to the free-throw line quite often, as a result of his physical approach to the game. Very strong rebounder. Has good low post moves, and is a strong finisher at the rim. Has a good mid-range jump shot which keeps defenses honest, but as he improves this area he will reach his maximum potential as a player. Runs the floor very well, and like a guard. Will play immediately in college, at any level. Selected as the Co-Top 30 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player.
Brayden Carter 6-7 SR SF J.K. Mullen HS (CO) - 2021 Class
A very good shooter of the basketball with good size and a good overall feel for the game. Has excellent range on his shot and a quick release. While he did not make as many shots in the event as he had hoped to, you can see that he has the mechanics and ability to make shots consistently. A good rebounder from the wing position. Competes. Can play as a shooting guard also over time. A solid defender.
Kiree Huie 6-9 JR PF Liberty HS (NV) - 2022 Class
Huie is a big, strong low post prospect with very good size a 4 or 5 man. He is a strong low-post presence that rebounds hard and defends on the low-block. Has excellent size. Runs the floor hard and plays with good intensity. A strong finisher around the basket. Plays with good physicality and is very intriguing as a college prospect, as a result of his size. Will develop offensively over time. Has some upside.
Christian Bento 7-0 SR C Bishop Gorman HS (NV) - 2021 Class
A very large post player with terrific size for the 5-man position. Has excellent length of body. Runs the floor well and has an athletic frame. A good rebounder. A very good low-post defender. Block and changes shots. A good looking prospect with upside.
Brogan Callaghan 6-3 JR SG Hellgate HS (MT) - 2022 Class
Callaghan is a very good scorer of the basketball, as he is a good shooter with range and scan score off the dribble. A facilitator as well. Capable of making plays for himself and others. A good ball handler and passer. Sees the floor. A good overall prospect.
Desmond Green 6-9 SR PF Desert Pines HS (NV) - 2021 Class
A very long and thin 4-man prospect that is athletic and finishes strong around the basket. Still raw offensively, but is active. Runs the floor. A good shotblocker. Has good upside.
Nathan James 6-2 JR PG/SG JSerra HS (CA) - 2022 Class
James is a skilled combo-guard prospect that is fundamentally sound. A very good shooter of the basketball and a sound ball handler that can create off the dribble. A strong finisher for his size. A good passer. Has command presence on the floor. Good looking prospect.
Dennis Mganga 6-5 JR SF Renaissance Academy (CA) - 2022 Class
Mganga is a skilled wing prospect with good size and athleticism. A left-hander, Mganga has a good overall skill level and is a facilitator as a prospect - creating plays off the dribble for himself and his teammates. A strong finisher. An active rebounder. A solid shooter from mid-range.
AK Orekere 6-7 SR SF Clovis North HS (CA) - 2021 Class
A bigger wing prospect with a nice overall skill level. Able to score with either hand, fundamentally sound. Has a very strong body. A good shooter with range, and also has a solid mid-range game as well. A good finisher. A good ball handler and passer for his size. Has very good upside. A nice overall looking prospect.
Alpha Chibambe 6-5 JR SF/PF JSerra HS (CA) - 2022 Class
A strong, athletic 3/4 prospect with a nice body. Still raw offensively. Very athletic for his size. An OK shooter that still needs work in this area. Strong rebounder. Good finisher. Runs the floor hard.
Jaden Winfield 6-5 SR SF/PF King HS (CA) - 2021 Class
A strong 3/4 prospect that plays bigger than his size suggests. Runs the floor hard and is very athletic. A strong finisher. Does not need the basketball to make plays. A good slasher and finisher. Good in the open floor. A strong rebounder. A solid shooter. A good ball handler and passer. Has good upside.
Corey Cofield 6-4 SR SG/SF West Ranch HS (CA) - 2021 Class
An athletic wing prospect with good overall slashing and finishing ability in the halfcourt set or in the open court. An active rebounder. A solid shooter. A solid ball handler. A strong finisher. Plays with good energy.
Kameron Robinson 6-10 SR C Desert Pines HS (NV) - 2021 Class
A bigger low post prospect with very good size and definitely looks the part. Has a good overall skill level. Athletic. Thin physical frame but has good length. A good shooter with a soft touch. A good rebounder. A good low post scorer. Has upside.
Jake Overbay 6-2 JR SG Lincoln HS (CA) - 2022 Class
An excellent shooter of the basketball with range on his shot. Fundamentally sound performer. A good ball handler and passer. Has a good overall feel for the game. A good defender. A good looking guard prospect.
Dane Persek 6-6 JR PF J Serra HS (CA) - 2022 Class
A strong body, stretch 4-man prospect that can make shots from the perimeter and can score inside the paint. Has a strong body physically. An active rebounder and finisher. Plays physical. Plays with good intensity. Gets to the free-throw line often.
Kyle Evans 6-9 JR PF Santa Margarita HS (CA) - 2022 Class
Evans is a longer stretch 4-man prospect with very good size and a good overall skill level. A lengthy forward that runs the floor well, and is a good finisher in the open court. Athletic. A strong finisher around the basket. A good rebounder. Has good upside.
Tyrelle Hunt 6-5 SR SF Coronado HS (NV) - 2021 Class
A strong, athletic wing prospect with an excellent body. Plays physical and with good aggression. A good scorer inside and out. A good low post scorer that also has a good overall mid-range game. Can score around the basket with either hand. A strong finisher. Runs the floor hard. A good overall defender.
Ron Jones Jr. 6-7 JR SF/PF Oakland Tech HS (CA) - 2022 Class
A bigger 3/4 prospect that should see the majority of his time in the future around the basket. An OK shooter, but has good low-post footwork and can score with his back to the basket. Very athletic. A good finisher. Competes hard on both ends of the floor. Active. A very good rebounder. A very good defender. Runs the floor hard.
