After a strong junior season at Hillcrest Prep where he teamed up with backcourt teammate Kyree Walker to create one of the elite backcourts in America, possibly the nation's best one-two combination, Hillcrest Prep 6-foot-5, 175-pound junior point guard Dalen Terry saw his recruitment soar this high school season. After a strong performance thus far this spring and also last weekend in Irvine, California, Terry has now added some more big offers to his already long list of college programs.
This week, Terry received an offer from the University of Florida, while last week he received an offer from the University of Arkansas. Terry already has a long list of other scholarship offers from such college programs as Marquette, Memphis, Arizona State, Cal, USC, Utah, UNLV, Nevada and Grand Canyon University already for himself, with many more offers on the horizon.
Terry has not indicated any leaders early on in his recruitment, so it should be a very interesting recruitment for the gifted guard prospect. Terry is set to have a big spring and summer while playing for the Compton Magic (CA), where he teams up with such top-rated national prospects as 7-foot junior post Evan Mobley (USC commit).
Terry transferred to Hillcrest Prep before the start to the 2018-2019 high school basketball season - leaving one of the state's most historic high school basketball programs, Corona Del Sol HS, and electing for the prep school ranks. Terry is among the state's elite prospects in the 2020 class - a class absolutely loaded with top-rated talent. Many prospects in the class have received regional and even national attention.
Terry is a long, rangy and skilled guard prospect that has serious upside for the future. He is still growing a great deal and has an excellent feel for the game, and is a rare bigger guard prospect, that is a true-point guard. He is also young for his class and has serious potential for the future.
I will continue to follow Terry's college recruitment closely this spring and summer, and bring you any other recruiting updates regarding Terry, as they continue to develop.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Terry is a long, rangy prospect with huge upside and a bright future ahead of him. He has excellent length of body which allows him to make plays, and an advanced feel for the game from the point guard position. While possessing very good height for the point guard position, Terry is a true-point guard with a pass-first mentality. He is fundamentally sound and has a nice overall skillset and feel for the game. A bigger point guard prospect that loves to have the basketball in his hands and make plays for himself and others off the dribble. An excellent passer of the basketball that sees the floor very well, and pushes the ball up the floor to the open man. He has a solid shooting stroke with range. Has excellent overall versatility as a player. Very good in the open floor. An active defender. Plays passing lanes. Runs the floor well. Has serious upside and potential for the future, with a high basketball IQ. A budding young prospect that will receive loads of recruiting attention.
