This week, the West Coast Jamboree kicks off in Oakland, CA. The West Coast Jamboree is one of the biggest high school girls basketball tournaments on the West Coast. This year’s event will host (108) teams at high school sites around the Bay Area.
We are pleased to announce that the Deer Valley Lady Skyhawks have been invited to make the trip to represent Arizona. Currently, the Lady Skyhawks have been trying to find their groove, however I am optimistic that they will utilize this tough road test to get ready for the 2nd half of the season.
The Lady Skyhawks are still one of my favorite teams to make a deep playoff run in 4A. In order for that to happen, Deer Valley will need strong performances from seniors Michaela “KK” Lee, Eliyah Brousseau, and junior Izzy Majarucon. The X-factor will be junior transfer play-maker Diamond Stevenson, as she will be eligible the 2nd half of the season.
I expect the Lady Skyhawks to surprise a lot of teams in January and February. I am excited to announce that myself and fellow scout Jesse Mejia will be flying out to cover the event and follow the Lady Skyhawks. An amazing way to end 2022.
