Casa Grande High School's lady Cougars won this year's Lady Badger Invitational this weekend - a Prescott holiday tournament. Casa Grande, led by dynamic head coach Ursula Doll, defeated Copper Canyon High School in the championship game, 47-34.
"We had amazing team play, as well as we played through injuries," said head coach Ursula Doll.
5-foot-10 junior forward Ciera Walker led Casa Grande in the tournament final with a game-high 19 points. Terrific freshman guard Veronica Perez scored 10 points and 6-foot senior forward Sarah Hill (pictured) contributed 7 points.
The Lady Cougars improved to a 12-2 overall record on the season.
Sarah Hill was selected for the All-Tournament Team, while Veronica Perez took home Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.
