Seton Catholic High School has turned the corner and are back to winning basketball games this season, behind the strong play of 6-foot senior guard K.J. Fauske. Fauske is making major waves this high school season with his play, as he has led Seton Catholic to an impressive 10-1 start to the season. After years of steady growth as a player, Fauske is having his best season yet, and it’s no surprise, as I have followed his journey for many years now.

Fauske is having a tremendous senior season, and has become one of the top scorers in the country this season - averaging an impressive 24.8 points per game and shooting a remarkable 49% from beyond the arc. He ranks 112th nationally in scoring and 124th in three-pointers made, with (42) triples to his name this season. In one of his standout performances, Fauske dropped 39 points on 15 of 21 shooting in a thrilling 74-70 win over Gilbert Christian High School. He also notched 30 points in a victory over Pusch Ridge Christian Academy. His consistency, quick release and unlimited range on his shot have made him one of the elite shooters in America. Fauske is also very skilled and can get to the basket and finish, while also improving his mid-range game as well. He is an elite scorer of the basketball.

It is not just about the numbers, as Fauske's growth is a testament to his hard work and the influence of his father, Kirk Fauske, a well-respected and longtime successful coach in Arizona, and at many different levels. Having grown up around the game, K.J. has honed his craft and is now leading Seton Catholic to a stellar 10-1 record, positioning them as a top contender in the state's 3A Division.

As the season heads into its second half, Seton Catholic will face tough challenges, including (4) match-ups against Valley Christian and an undefeated Coolidge High School (11-0) team. With Fauske’s leadership, they have a real shot at a 3A State Championship run this season, and as someone who’s watched him develop over the years, I’m confident we will continue to see even bigger things from K.J. down the stretch.

Fauske will also look to gain some serious recruiting interest this high school season, as his numbers only prove his value as an offensive weapon. Everyone can use someone with his unique offensive skillset, so I look for him to also land a nice college opportunity this spring.

I will look forward to following Fauske this high school season, as he looks to lead Seton Catholic to a strong performance during the second half of the season.

Arizona Prep Scouting Report: Fauske is a skilled combo-guard prospect with an excellent shooting stroke, that has a very quick release with unlimited range on his shot. He can get his shot off almost at will, as he has a very good offensive feel for the game. He has also improved his ability to create off the dribble and finish at the rim, and also has developed his mid-range game as well. He is a good ball handler and passer that sees the floor, but is at his best as a shooter and scorer. Pushes the ball up the floor and plays fast. Can play both guard positions. A solid defender that competes hard and enjoys the game. Plays with superior confidence. Son of a longtime successful coach. Has a high basketball IQ. His best years are still ahead of him.
