Many of Arizona's top-rated prospects utilized the summer evaluation period to raise their overall recruiting stock. One of the top prospects to take advantage of the summer opportunities available to him was Rancho Solano Prep High School's ultra-athletic 6-foot-4 junior guard Kiimani Holt. Each time Holt and his loaded Powerhouse Hoops 16U team took the floor, Holt seemed to gain more recruiting interest, and, ultimately, offers for himself.
While he entered the summer's NCAA evaluation period with no offers on the table for himself, he left the period as a marked man - gaining (6) diffferent scholarship offers for himself, early in the recruiting process.
After receiving his first scholarship offer while taking part in the Under Armour event in Atlanta, Georgia from Portland State University while playing in the event, by the end of the summer's competition Holt would also reel in offers from UC-Santa Barbara, Montana, Idaho State, Northern Arizona and Houston Baptist.
Holt had an excellent summer performance for himself while anchoring a loaded Powerhouse team that did not lose much this summer. He maximized his recruitment in the process and came out a big winner from the club season. From here, Holt should only continue to pick up recruiting steam over the next year. Holt's promise as a college prospect suggests that he should only continue to generate much more recruiting interest over the next full year, as he continues to mature and has a big junior season in the state's AIA ranks.
I will continue to follow the recruitment of Holt closely throughout the fall and his junior season, and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Holt is among the very best athletes in the West for the 2019 Class. He is a unique athletic talent with strong athleticism in the open floor and while slashing to the basket in the half-court set. He has an ability to dunk the basketball over and around defenders, and has an explosive first step and gets off the ground quickly and finishes very strong at the rim. An excellent slasher and open court player that is capable of bringing the crowd to their feet at any point in the game. A very good mid-range shooter that has range on his shot, but is at his best when attacking the basket or pulling up from mid-range. A good ball handler. An OK passer. A very good defender that plays passing lanes. Has a very bright future ahead of him and has become one of the better recruiting targets in the class early in the process.
