Another prospect from Arizona's 2013 class of girls prospects is off the recruiting board.
After a terrific junior season where she led her Flowing Wells High School basketball program to a strong 27-4 record on the season, 6-foot-2 rising senior post Lyndsay Leikem has given a verbal commitment to Ole Miss.
Leikem's club coach, St. Mary's HS head coach and also head coach of the Arizona Warriors, Curtis Ekmark, advised me that Leikem is the first commitment in the 2013 class by Ole Miss. Leikem played for Ekmark at St. Mary's High School during her freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Flowing Wells HS in Tucson.
Leikem averaged 15.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per/game as a junior - leading Flowing Wells HS to the quarterfinals of the Division-II state playoffs.
Leikem is a strong power-forward prospect that likes to play with her back to the basket, and is also able to face-up and shoot the basketball out to 15-18 feet. She likes to score around the basket with a variety of low post moves, and does not mind physical contact. She runs the floor and is a good finisher around the basket. She is also a good shotblocker with a nice wingspan for her size and has a good ability to pass the basketball out of the low post - finding the open player on the court. Not overly athletic, Leikem is a strong rebounder and keeps the basketball up high on put-backs. A nice looking post prospect that plays her position.
Leikem is also an excellent student and carries a 4.0 CUM GPA.
