Dream City Christian Prep's Kaitlyn Beall is a very talented basketball player who recently earned a scholarship to play for Cal-State San Marcos. Kaitlyn felt as though Cal State San Marcos felt like home.
“I chose Cal State San Marcos because I really liked the coaches and players and it feels like home," said Beall.
Kaitlyn began her journey at 8 years old, and credited her parents for placing her in the position she is in today.
“My parents put me in a variety of sports, and I just really enjoyed playing basketball," said Beall. "Basketball made me feel like I had an advantage. I love team sports, playing with others and I especially love to win. Winning makes you feel like you accomplished something.”
Kaitlyn has averaged 13 points and 9 rebounds per/game this season. Kaitlyn has enjoyed her time at Dream City Christian Prep.
“Everyone is so accepting, and we have great chemistry," said Beall. "Coach Allen and Coach Kelii are great coaches. Coach Allen is able to talk to us about other things, not just about basketball. Coach Kelii also is able to talk to us about other things other than basketball, which builds great chemistry for us as a whole."
Kaitlyn plans to major in Psychology, when she enrolls into college, but wants to see how far basketball takes her. Kaitlyn holds a 4.1 Cum GPA, and having good grades is very important to her.
Besides basketball, Kaitlyn enjoys other hobbies, such as playing beach volleyball and definitely hanging out with friends.
“I like to stay balanced, I believe in staying mentally locked in, whether I’m on the court or in the classroom," said Beall. Kaitlyn also volunteers during her free time.
“I would say use what you are gifted with, and your gifts will take you everywhere. Your gifts will lead you through life," said Beall.
Kaitlyn was asked where does she see herself in 10 years?
“I see myself as a sports psychologist with a family," said Beall.
We will see great things coming from Kaitlyn, as she continues her education at Cal State San Marcos.
