Gifted and ultra-athletic 6-foot-4 rising junior guard De'Vontes Cobbs has been on the move for some time, changing numerous schools since first enrolling at local high school basketball power Shadow Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona, during his freshman season. After receiving loads of national attention (2022 Class Top 30 national prospect) as a middle-schooler in Milwaukee, WI, Cobbs decided to move to the state of Arizona. As an impressive starter as a mere freshman for 4A defending State Champion Shadow Mountain High School, and helping lead the program to another state championship and a nice 26-3 overall record on the season, Cobbs decided to transfer schools after the departure of former NBA guard and Arizona basketball legend Mike Bibby, who coached the Shadow Mountain program for many years and turned the program into a national power.

Cobbs then enrolled at AZ Compass Prep during the summer of his sophomore season, but would never play for AZ Compass. Instead he would then transfer to California's Mayfair High School (CA), where he would attend school for a semester, before then leaving that program to transfer last season to Hillcrest Prep. After spending a season competing for a loaded Hillcrest Prep National Team, that won numerous national events, Cobbs has now decided to transfer schools once again, although he is currently undecided still where he will land for his junior season.

Cobbs had an excellent spring and summer performance last year (2019) on the club circuit, where he played at a very high level against stiff opposition at his age group with the Arizona Supreme, and a couple other top-rated club programs in the West, including a top performance with NBA superstar Lebron Jame's club program.

Cobbs is a future serious division-I talent, and already possesses division-I offers from Florida, Arizona State, West Virginia and SMU.

Cobbs is an electric guard prospect that is capable of playing both guard positions on the floor, and is a serious proven scorer. He can score in bunches from all angles of the floor, while slashing to the basket and finishing strong and dunking the basketball in fine fashion over defenders.  He is a human highlight reel in the open floor and is an Instagram national sensation every time he takes the floor.

I will continue to follow this story closely, as Cobbs looks to decide where he will play his junior season, and will bring you an update as Cobbs makes his decision.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Cobbs is an electric guard prospect that is capable of playing both guard positions on the floor, and is a serious proven scorer. He can score in bunches from all angles of the floor, while slashing to the basket and finishing strong and dunking the basketball in fine fashion over defenders.  He is a human highlight reel in the open floor and is an Instagram national sensation everytime he takes the floor. Cobbs has really improve his jump shot with consistency and range as of late, making him a difficult player to defend. He is a playmaker also with the ball in his hands and plays with a very high motor. He is an excellent, lengthy defender that plays passing lanes and defends all over the floor. Once he gains some consistency in his school of choice, on and off the floor, this young man will have a bright future ahead of him. A big time talent that does not have a true position, he is just a player that makes plays.
