Hillcrest Prep 6-foot-5 rising senior point guard prospect Dalen Terry continues to impress a great deal on the club circuit and in individual camps. After a strong spring performance for himself on the club circuit, Terry recently turned in a strong performance in the Pangos All-American Camp in California, and this week and weekend he turned heads at the NBPA Players Camp on the campus of the University of Virginia.
Terry and Hillcrest Prep teammate Kyree Walker, both members of Arizona's talented 2020 Class, are representative at this week's camp in Virginia, and are the state's only two prospects in attendance. Both Terry and Walker are considered among the nation's elite prospects in the class, and the camp features many of the nation's Top 100 prospects - regardless of class.
Terry's performance has led to a long list of college offers for himself already, and after a recent offer from the University of Colorado, Terry has now received an offer from the University of Arizona, as the Wildcats have turned their attention to the gifted guard prospect.
Terry has not indicated whether he has a leader currently in his college recruitment, but he also has offers already from the University of Florida, University of Arkansas, Marquette, Memphis, Arizona State, Cal, USC, Utah, UNLV, Nevada and Grand Canyon University, with many more offers on the horizon.
Terry is set to have a big summer as well, while playing for the Compton Magic (CA), where he teams up with such top-rated national prospects as 7-foot junior post Evan Mobley (USC commit).
Terry is a long, rangy and skilled guard prospect that has serious upside for the future. He is still growing a great deal and has an excellent feel for the game, and is a rare bigger guard prospect, that is a true-point guard. He is also young for his class and has serious potential for the future.
I will continue to follow Terry's college recruitment closely throughout the summer, and bring you any other recruiting updates regarding Terry, as they continue to develop.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Terry is a long, rangy prospect with huge upside and a bright future ahead of him. He has excellent length of body which allows him to make plays, and an advanced feel for the game from the point guard position. While possessing very good height for the point guard position, Terry is a true-point guard with a pass-first mentality. He is fundamentally sound and has a nice overall skillset and feel for the game. A bigger point guard prospect that loves to have the basketball in his hands and make plays for himself and others off the dribble. An excellent passer of the basketball that sees the floor very well, and pushes the ball up the floor to the open man. He has a solid shooting stroke with range. Has excellent overall versatility as a player. Very good in the open floor. An active defender. Plays passing lanes. Runs the floor well. Has serious upside and potential for the future, with a high basketball IQ. A budding prospect with a very bright future.
