3. Comments regarding your expectations for the season and what it will take for the team to be successful.

Lady Cougars went under a reconstruction in 2011 when Colorado Native Ursula Doll took over the program. Coach Doll has had a passion for basketball since she was a child herself. Coach Doll played college ball and finds it to be her duty to fully prepare the girls for the REAL game of basketball- at that next level.  Last year with the help of standout senior Jeylynn Fields, the lady cougars went 20-10 overall. They had their first appearance in the school’s history in the state sectional tournament. Coach Doll took that and nurtured what she calls the “Great 8.”  She had some new editions as well as a strong five returners to make the perfect mix of new and old.
These athletes are all ready and trained which gives Coach Doll high hopes. "This is the deepest I've ever been-which is ironic with only 8 players," said Doll.  "However, these 8 players work together as most have played or trained in the off season for years now.  All are involved in Arizona AAU, which gives them an edge as they’re already use to playing at a high pace game. I have the highest expectations as well as short term and long term goals that- if meant, these young ladies will shock the state and the basketball community alike."

4. Any Noteworthy Items

Elite Lady Cougar Basketball Players were asked to play for the United States of America overseas this summer in Italy.  Casa Grande Union's Coach Ursula Doll has been chosen by America's Team to take a team to Italy in June 2015.  Coach Doll has a group of girls whom include players from North Carolina, Minnesota, and Arizona.  These girls have worked for a chance like this and I am blessed to coach these young ladies and now to have this once in a lifetime opportunity to travel and see the world through basketball.

Our very own Union Lady Cougars whom were given this honor to represent USA are the following:

Savannah Anderson (Sophomore),

Veronica Perez (Freshman),

Kyla Williams (Freshman),

Abigail Salinas (Junior),

Anisa Monteau (Junior),

Ciera Walker (Junior),

Sarah Hill (Senior),

Aryanna Walker (Senior).

Also......

This summer many of the lady cougars expanded their minds and the distance they went to improve their game.

Savannah Anderson (pictured) was one that traveled to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  She was recognized with two awards at the camps,as well as making a lasting impression. This last month Savannah Anderson was also featured in a spotlight article for the Arizona Preps Showcase by Anthony's Ray, stating she is a player to watch and a force to be reckoned with.

Aryanna Walker, Ciera Walker and Abigail Salinas went through extensive training to elevate their own game all summer long. The work and efforts these young ladies have made within this last year shows their dedication to the sport and the program.

Sarah Hill just returned from Virginia where she verbally committed to Hollins University, and will be playing for their Women's Basketball Team.  These ladies have shown that they will go the distance and it is very exciting to see and be apart of.
