The AZ Compass Prep Fall League has been very exciting, since kicking off (2) weeks ago. With many top prospects and teams in the event, Arizona Preps' scout Tye Jacobs has been in attendance each night, and here are the top prospects as seen by Jacobs from the league (In no particular order) . . .

Adrame Diongue, AZ Compass Prep 6-11 PF/C 2022 Class

Adrame is a player with tons of potential and continues to grow each time I see him play. What sets Adrame apart from other players his size is his motor and athleticism. Adrame has the ability to to snatch rebounds, outlet and, in the same breath, fill the middle lane for the finish. Currently he is a player who thrives off his rim-running and lob-threat ability. It will be awesome to see his progress over the next year, as you can see the fluidity in his handles and jump shot.

Ty Ty Washington AZ Compass Prep 6-4 PG 2021 Class

Ty Ty is a masterful point guard who is a joy to watch anytime he takes the court. He is a player who I would say can score from (4) levels, as he has extended his three-point shooting to NBA Range. What sets Ty Ty apart is his tremendous footwork. Because of this footwork, everything he does offensively looks rather easy. In this fall league, I have been very impressed with his ability to pick his spots to score and distribute. One big take way is how much he supports his teammates. Cruising thru the league with big leads, Ty Ty has played a big part on the bench celebrating others' success.

Nate Pickens AZ Compass Prep 6-3 PG 2022 Class

Nate has had one of the biggest improvements of any player valley-wide, since the last high school season. He always had the capability to create for teammates and score with his jump-shot, but, with his improved athleticism, he is a threat to finish over the top of the defense. When a player improves like this, it’s a testament to their work-ethic and ability to be coached. As Nate takes on the new challenge of playing with AZ Compass Prep’s National Team, it will be fun to see how his game continues to grow, while taking on the best high school basketball has to offer.

Isaiah Broady AZ Compass Prep 6-6 SF 2021 Class

Isaiah has brought everything we here at Arizona Preps thought he would to the AZ Compass lineup - length, athleticism and shooting ability. As one of the more under recruited prospects in the state, joining AZ Compass Prep should give him the exposure needed to showcase his game on the biggest stage. During the fall league Isaiah has been a monster in transition, showing his ability to finish with highlight plays. I think one piece of Isaiah’s game that gets lost in the shuffle is his ball handling ability. For a player of his size and length, he does a great job creating off the dribble.

Aldan Applewhite AZ Compass Prep 6-7 SG 2021 Class

Aldan is a true three-level threat who has great size for his position. As a spot-up shooter, Aldan is a player you do not want to leave open, and, if you close out to hard, he can make you pay off the dribble.  Aldan plays with a chip on his shoulder and is constantly around the ball defensively. He shows the capability to lock up opposing players.

John Gaines Glenview Prep 6-4 Combo-Guard 2021 Class

John is a combo-guard with good size and strength. He has a tremendous first-step that allows him to get to the rim with ease. When at the rim, he has the strength and athleticism to finish through opponents. Defensively, he is a dog who is capable of applying tons of ball pressure, and can create turnovers for the opposing offense.

Aaron Johnson Heritage Maricopa 6-6 2021 Class

Aaron is a player that showed lots of potential. He is a long athlete that competes at a very high level. He has great athletic ability and can change the game with his length on the defensive end.

Julian Roberts Glenview Prep 6-8 F 2022 Class

Julian (pictured) is a smooth big man who is very skilled offensively. He is a great threat to score on all three levels with his long-range shooting, his ability to facilitate in the high post and his rolling to the rim ability. My favorite attribute of Julian’s is his soft hands. He rarely fumbles passes and is always in a position to score.

Joshua Upduje AZ Compass Prep 6-3 G 2021 Class

Joshua is a different type of athlete. He is best in transition or driving to the lane, where he can easily create highlight dunks by himself or over defenders. He has great instincts defensively. He does a tremendous job in the passing lanes and with contesting shots. Being a player who is hailing from Great Britain and has competed on the world stage with Great Britain's U16 Team, he is a prospect to watch as the season begins.

Jacob Enriquez PHH Prep 6-4 SG/SF 2021 Class

Jacob is a very long wing prospect that can score from all over the court. He shows the ability to score from three, or make pull-up, mid-range jumpers. He plays at his own pace and is never sped up. Defensively he has the length to change shots.

Javan Small AZ Compass Prep 6-1 2021 Class

Javan is a perfect fit in AZ Compass' backcourt. He is explosive with the ball in his hands and can finish among the trees with his creativity and athleticism.  Defensively he has extremely quick hands and never takes a play off from harassing opposing guards.
