In celebration of our 20th Anniversary for the Arizona Preps website, this year's 21st Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase will lead off with some serious action in the prep school ranks, as a loaded AZ Compass Prep program and a very talented Dream City Christian Prep team will both help to kick off this year's event.
Both programs will be featured in two different games being held on Friday evening @ 7PM and 8:30PM. Both games will be held @ the NEW Skyline Gila River Arena located @ 255 E. Riggs Road, Chandler, AZ 85248.
AZ Compass Prep is coming off a very impressive performance in last weekend's Mullen's Prep Showcase. While they only played in one game in the event, they were victorious by more than 50+ points in a huge win over Bella Vista Prep. The Compass Prep program received a very well-balanced attack from their entire team in the event.
This year's version of the AZ Compass team (pictured) is a very talented group this year that features a lot of size and athleticism. They have plenty of talent from top to bottom and have an overall deep roster. Their roster includes 2021 6’2 Frankie Collins, 2020 6’11 Fallou Diagne, 2020 6’5 Northern Colorado commit Xavier Dusell, 2021 6’6 Maxwell Lewis, 2021 6’5 Joshua Primo, 2020 6’3 Sincere Parker, 2020 6’8 Seryee Lewis and 6’7 Ariel Bland, just to name a few guys.
This team showed how explosive they can be already, and our staff looks for them to have an excellent season this year, as they compete on the Grind Session, along with other events.
AZ Compass will face Planet Athlete Academy @ 8:30PM on Friday evening. Planet Athlete is known for producing quality student-athletes each year, as Head Coach Eric Bowman has worked hard over the years to develop an excellent program here in the valley, and also Nevada and New Jersey. Planet Athlete always plays a very tough brand of basketball and produces many sleeper prospects.
Dream City Christian Prep is a new prep program in the valley, but includes the leadership and each of the former players from last year's Grind Session National Champion Bella Vista Prep. Head Coach Kyle Weaver and his staff have quickly, in a short period of time, built a very promising program that is loaded with talent and is also coming off two strong performances in Mullen's Prep Showcase.
Dream City Christian is a very talented group that features size, athleticism and skill. Their roster includes 2020 6’7 Marjon Beauchamp, 2021 6’8 Arthur Kaluma, 2020 6’2 UC-Riverside commit Jalin Anderson, 2020 6’11 UNLV commit Jhaylon Martinez, 2023 6’6 Aly Green, 2020 6’2 Blaise Beauchamp & 2020 6’8 Maj Dusanic, just to name a few. This roster is talented, deep and very skilled. They should have a very good season on the Grind Session, as well as other events that they will be competing in.
Dream City Christian will face a local professional ABA team known as the South Phoenix Knights. Coached by one of the state's top coaches and trainers, Lawrence Hampton, the program is a rapidly growing and developing program in the West. The team features many professional players and top past performers that will give a talented Dream Christian team a great test.
Both games will be very exciting and filled with talented prospects on the floor - kicking off this year's exciting 21st Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase.
