The always exciting McClintock Holiday Shootout will take place again this week @ McClintock High School and will take place Monday, December 26th and run through Thursday, December 29th – finishing out the 2022 year of exciting high school basketball. Mesa High School is off to a nice 9-1 start to the 2022-2023 high school basketball season. After dropping their very first game of the season to ALA Gilbert North (57-51) in the Mesa Fear The Hop Tournament, the team has reeled off 9-straight victories and is preparing to leave the state to take part in the State Farm Classic next week in Bloomington, Illinois. The 15th Annual Visit Mesa Basketball Challenge will take place this week, December 19-22nd @ Mesa Mountain View High School and surrounding high schools in Mesa. As we get set to release our new Individual Player Rankings for the 2025 Class, another one of the top prospects in the class is Cesar Chavez High School’s 6-foot-3, 175-pound sophomore guard Lex Clontz. Clontz burst onto the Arizona varsity scene last season as a freshman and posted big scoring numbers in his season debut. This season, Clontz has returned under new leadership at Chavez, and has raised his numbers and is having another strong season for himself. Cactus High School’s 7-foot, 240-pound junior post Bradey Henige has become completely dominant in Arizona basketball – already putting together an amazing high school career. After two strong high school seasons already under his belt, Henige has completely gone to another level during his junior season – averaging 30+ points and 22+ rebounds per/game this high school season. Arizona’s 2025 Class of prospects is quickly developing and is loaded with top-notch talent for the future.
