North Canyon High School (12-8) has been up and down this season in Head Coach Mike O’Guinn’s last season as head coach. North Canyon came into Tuesday’s night’s game with McClintock High School as winners of their last (6) games on the season, before the narrow loss to McClintock (62-60). One of the top overall junior college prospects in the country resides @ Arizona Western Junior College, but is still under the radar for Division-I college programs. Arizona Western’s 6-foot-1 sophomore guard AJ Marmolejos is having a terrific sophomore season in the ACCAC, as he ranks among the league leaders in numerous statistical categories. AZ Compass Prep’s gifted 6-foot-3, 175-pound junior guard Jeremiah Fears has made his college decision and will return home to the state of Illinois to play for the University of Illinois. A native of Joliet, Illinois, Fears will be returning home for college, after giving a nice early verbal commitment this week.
