The exciting Arizona Preps High School Showcase will be held Saturday, May 15th @ Dream City Christian Prep School, located at 21000 N 75th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85308.  This event will feature two of the elite basketball scouts in the country, Anthony Ray (Arizona Preps) and Chad Groth (Area Codes Basketball) - combining for the first time in many years to give all participants the best opportunity for exposure.

This event was developed and designed to give the large number of under-recruited and unsigned senior high school boy's in the state, and interested prospects in the West, an opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in front of a large number of top-rated scouts and media, focused on the 2021 Senior Class - each invited to significantly raise the exposure and access to college basketball coaches and programs, at all levels, across the country.

THE HARD FACTS DUE TO THE PANDEMIC

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the college recruitment and for many, the opportunity to even compete over the last year, which halted and significantly diminished the opportunity to be recruited and evaluated for the majority of the nation's top prospects. For America's senior class (2021 Class), the majority of these prospects have been left under recruited, uncommitted and unsigned, and this spring, Division-I college coaches will not be permitted to evaluate NCAA potential prospects until this summer.

Due to NCAA rules, every college program will be primarily recruiting current college players this spring and summer (Transfer Portal), in an attempt to maintain their current players and land Division-I transfers. Current college players have also been given another year of eligibility - making it very difficult for new high school prospects (2021 Senior Class) to earn college athletic scholarships, as scholarship opportunities will be very limited. As a result, the majority of senior prospects will be left unrecruited altogether and very limited in their opportunities to be seen or evaluated, and, ultimately recruited.

Estimated Probability of Competing in College Athletics (2019) (according to NCAA research)

High school participantsNCAA participantsOverall % HS to NCAA% HS to NCAA Div1% HS to NCAA Div2% HS to NCAA Div3
551,37318,8163.4%1.0%1.0%1.4%
High school participantsNCAA participantsOverall % HS to NCAA% HS to NCAA Div1% HS to NCAA Div2% HS to NCAA Div3
412,40716,6144.0%1.2%1.2%1.6%

These numbers will be significantly lower in 2021, as most college prospects from the 2021 Class, have gone unseen and unrecruited - making for a large bubble of seniors that will be very limited in their exposure to college coaches.

The Solution

College scouts that operate NCAA-Approved Scouting Services have access to hundreds of college programs across the country, and make up significant and valuable recruiting time in the recruiting process. One college coach represents one college program, while an individual scouting service could have a reach and access to hundreds of college programs. Our Arizona Preps' staff operates an NCAA-Approved Scouting Service (The Arizona Hoop Review), and will be formally inviting and bringing some of the nation's top scouts and media to this event - The Arizona Preps High School Basketball Showcase, to give each student-athletes maximum opportunity and exposure to college programs across America.
