While it has taken some time for us to release our annual Player of the Year nominations in each region of the state of Arizona, here are our selections for these honors, as selected by our amazing and hard-working Arizona Preps staff. We will select our Player(s) of the Year for boys and girls high school basketball in the state of Arizona. Each of our selections will include our top performers throughout the state for the AIA, CAA and prep school divisions, as each selection by our staff will encompass each division for consideration. Here is this year's 2023 selections for our Players of the Years for boy's basketball in the state of Arizona by our Arizona Preps' staff.
We continue our selections with our Player(s) of the Year in each region of the state, as selected by our staff members in those respective areas of the state. We continue with our boys 2023 Arizona Preps Western Arizona Player of the Year - Yuma Catholic High School's 6-foot-1 sophomore guard Braden Moore. Moore was selected by Leo Scott of our Arizona Preps' staff after a terrific sophomore season, where Moore took the state by storm and performed at a high level all high school season - leading Yuma Catholic High School to an impressive 26-3 overall record on the season.
Braden Moore took home many accolades this season, which included another 3A West Region Championship with the Shamrocks, 3A West Region Player of the Year and he was also selected to the 3A All Conference First Team. Braden showcased his talent throughout the regular undefeated season, but the sophomore put the state on notice, during the AIA 3A State Playoffs. Braden proved to all that he is an elite athletic point guard, with an all-around game that can compete against the top-tier players in the state. Yuma Catholic reached the Final-4 this season and is coached by Luke Stuckey.
Congratulations to Braden Moore and the Yuma Catholic basketball program on this honor.
