While it has taken some time for us to release our annual Player of the Year nominations in each region of the state of Arizona, here are our selections for these honors, as selected by our amazing and hard-working Arizona Preps staff. We will select our Player(s) of the Year for boys and girls high school basketball in the state of Arizona. Each of our selections will include our top performers throughout the state for the AIA, CAA and prep school divisions, as each selection by our staff will encompass each division for consideration. Here is this year's 2023 selections for our Players of the Years for boy's basketball in the state of Arizona by our Arizona Preps' staff.
We continue our selections with our Player(s) of the Year in each region of the state, as selected by our staff members in those respective areas of the state. We continue with our boys 2023 Arizona Preps Southern Arizona Boy's Player of the Year - Pueblo High School's 5-foot-11 junior guard Isaiah Hill. Hill was selected by John Millyard of our Arizona Preps' staff after a strong junior season, where he led his Pueblo HS team to the state playoffs, while putting up excellent numbers in the process.
Isaiah Hill finished his junior year averaging 21.9 points, 3.5 assists, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 steals per/game. Hill went for 20+ points in (18) games this season, including (7) double-doubles and a season-high 41 points in a game. In a season where Hill led Pueblo to the 4A State Playoffs, he racked up 636 total points, 205 rebounds, 101 assists and 119 steals.
Isaiah Hill will be one of the top available 2024 guard prospects in the State of Arizona, and is arguably the top 2024 guard prospect in Southern Arizona.
Congratulations to Isaiah Hill and the Pueblo High School basketball program on this honor from our Arizona Preps' staff.
