Apollo High School is well known over the years for having a very proud tradition of producing elite guards for the collegiate level. The program looks to have found the program's next guard in line to play college basketball and become the school's next star. Emerging from Arizona’s loaded 2028 class, Apollo's 5-foot-10 sophomore point guard Izaiah Rawlings is turning heads this high school season, and making a strong case to be considered among the state's best young guard prospects.

Since I first saw Rawlings perform as a mere freshman, his strong blend of work ethic, creativity and toughness have stood out to me as an evaluator. Rawlings made waves this past October (2025) at the Arizona Preps Fall Showcase, as Rawlings was among the event’s top overall performers. Most recently, despite a team loss to West Point High School (76-64), he notched a career-best 20 points along with multiple assists in his team's loss, but it was his best outing yet.

Though a smaller guard, Rawlings competes with intensity on both ends. He attacks defenses off the dribble, pushes the tempo, and brings relentless defensive energy. His love for the game is evident, as he lives and breathes basketball daily. This extreme passion for the game will fuel his bright future.

Isaiah Rawlings is already one of the top guard prospects in Arizona’s 2028 class, and I expect him to keep growing physically and mentally, over time.

Apollo Head Coach Jacob Marin has coached numerous Division-I guards over time, and he speaks highly of Rawlings. Given Apollo’s rich basketball history of Division-I guards, Rawlings may be the next in line.

I’m excited to follow his development and continued maturity as a player, and will look to share updates as his journey continues. I really enjoy this young man as a person, and am pushing for his continued success, on and off the basketball court
