Aniyah Riddell is a star in the making who attends Mountain Pointe High School. Aniyah is a junior and is one of the top prospects in the state of Arizona. Aniyah is 6-foot-1 and always makes her presence felt when she is on the basketball court.
“I took basketball very serious starting in the 6th grade, and I am very competitive," said Riddell. "I feel like my biggest strength is my intensity, and I always feel like I am the strongest one on the court. I am a team leader, and I always strive to try to pick my players up on the court."
Aniyah credits her mother for her basketball career. “My mom helped me get my handles up, and that is why she is my biggest inspiration. I love my mom and she has been with me this whole journey. She is a great listener, and I would do anything for her."
Aniyah has some schools interested in her, for example, Columbia University, Hampton, Bradley and SUNY Maritime.
Aniyah plans to take her basketball career to the next level. “I plan to travel overseas and play professional basketball," said Riddell.
Besides basketball, Aniyah throws it down in the kitchen. “I love to cook and I have been cooking since the age of 5. I definitely have some skills in that department," said Riddell.
Aniyah also loves to sing and has been singing in the choir at her church. Aniyah has a very bubbly personality and feels that she has other talents than just being an athlete.
“I feel that I am very smart, and I do love talking," said Beall. "I have the personality of an extrovert, and I do see myself starting a career as a public speaker someday."
Aniyah has a very strong faith and also has volunteered in the past in the “Feed the Homeless Drive." Aniyah has a bright future, not only on the court, but one day as a public speaker as well.
