The 2015-2016 junior college basketball season in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) is now winding down, as we head into the end of the season. Here are this week’s Players of the Week in men’s basketball in the conference . . .
ACCAC D-I Player of the Week: Andre Nikita, Arizona Western
Andre Nikita again led Arizona Western to two ACCAC wins this past week - averaging 29.5 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds, a block and a steal per contest. He shot 54% from the field, including a blistering 67% from the 3-point line for the Matadors. Nikita now has multiple POW awards for Arizona Western.
ACCAC D-II Player of the Week: Trey Johnson, Glendale
Johnson averaged 27.5 points, 15 rebounds and 1.5 blocks this past week, including a 39-point, 19-rebound performance in Glendale's tough road loss to Arizona Western. On the week, Johnson shot 70% from the field, making 26 of his 37 shot attempts in leading the Gauchos to a 1-1 split in league play.
