Arizona basketball continues to establish itself as one of America’s premier basketball hotbeds, producing elite talent at the prep, high school and grassroots levels unlike ever before. One player helping lead that movement into the future is Millennium High School superstar 6-foot-5 now junior guard, Adan Diggs. Already regarded as one of the elite young prospects in America, Diggs has now made a significant move that will dramatically impact the national recruiting landscape. This week, Diggs officially announced his decision to reclassify into the 2027 class. The move immediately strengthens an already loaded 2027 national recruiting class and positions Diggs among some of the elite overall prospects in the country.

For those familiar with Arizona basketball, this development comes as no surprise. Diggs has been viewed as a national superstar for years. Coming out of middle school, Diggs was one of the most highly regarded incoming prospects Arizona basketball has seen in recent memory. Since arriving at Millennium High School, he has continued validating those expectations while developing into one of the nation’s premier young talents. This past season at Millennium, Diggs helped lead one of Arizona’s top programs to another tremendous season and a Top 20 National ranking, while continuing to establish himself nationally. His combination of size, athleticism, shot creation ability and versatility have made him one of the most difficult matchups in the country, regardless of class.

Diggs has long possessed elite scoring ability, but his game continues evolving beyond simply putting points on the board. He can create off the dribble, score in transition, finish through contact, make perimeter shots at a high level and impact winning in numerous ways. His confidence level and competitive drive separate him from many players his age.

College coaches across America have aggressively pursued Diggs as a result. His offer list continues growing rapidly, and many of college basketball’s premier programs remain heavily involved in his recruitment. This spring and summer, Diggs continues competing at the highest levels of grassroots basketball, where he has continued proving why many evaluators believe he possesses NBA-level upside long term. The reclassification now accelerates that timeline.

Already regarded as one of the premier talents in America, Diggs has exploded this spring while playing with heavily Nike-sponsored Vegas Elite (NV) on the Nike EYBL circuit. High-major Division-I college programs across the country have taken serious notice. Diggs has already landed offers from powerhouse programs such as Kentucky and North Carolina following his recent performance during the NCAA Evaluation Period, and his offer list continues to expand rapidly. I fully expect Diggs to receive offers from virtually every major high-major Division I program in America over the coming months.

This spring and summer, Diggs is teamed up with one of the hottest prospects in America, regardless of class - stud 6-foot-8 junior Demarcus Henry of AZ Compass Prep. Henry has become one of the nation’s premier prospects and continues to generate major recruiting buzz nationally. Together, Diggs and Henry are the hottest duo on the Nike EYBL circuit for the remainder of the spring and summer.

Diggs possesses a tremendous blend of size, athleticism, scoring ability, confidence and shot creation. He can score from all three levels, create offense for teammates, and impacts winning at a very high level. His versatility and ability to take over games separate him from many prospects nationally.

Another major factor in Diggs’ continued development has been the leadership and vision of Millennium High School head coach Rich Thornton. Thornton has helped to maintain Millennium as one of Arizona’s premier basketball programs and a destination program nationally, consistently developing high-level talent while building a culture centered around development and winning. Diggs’ decision to attend Millennium High School has proven significant for his long-term growth as a player, as he continues to develop within one of Arizona’s elite basketball environments. Under Thornton’s leadership, Millennium continues positioning itself among the premier basketball programs in Arizona and nationally, and Diggs has flourished as a result.

Arizona basketball has officially arrived nationally and has become one of the premier talent-producing states in America. The move by Diggs further puts Arizona under the spotlight, as Diggs could ultimately become one of as many as (5) different future McDonald’s All-Americans for the 2027 McDonald's All-American game. Historically, Arizona has never had more than (2) selections for the annual game. but next year will be very historic, when as many of (5) could earn the honor. Other names firmly in that discussion include CIA-Bella Vista Prep's 6-foot-10 junior Paul Osaruyi, Dream City Christian Prep 6-foot-6 junior Malakai Jordan, AZ Compass Prep's 6-foot-8 junior Demarcus Henry and Sunnyslope High School's 6-foot-11 junior Darius Wabbington. Having that many legitimate McDonald’s All-American candidates in one era shows just how far Arizona basketball has come nationally.

Arizona basketball continues producing elite national-level talent, and Diggs remains firmly positioned at the forefront of that movement. He now joins a loaded group of 2027 Arizona prospects that will help elevate the state’s national reputation, further cementing Arizona as one of America’s premier basketball destinations. Look for Adan Diggs to continue building momentum throughout the remainder of the spring and summer months as one of America’s premier prospects continues his rapid rise toward basketball superstardom.

Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Adan Diggs is highly regarded among the nation's top scouting services as one of the elite 2028 prospects in the land. Diggs has dominated his competition for years now, regardless of the level he has played against, and is now a household name among national basketball enthusiasts, scouts, media and college coaches. Diggs is an ultra-athletic prospect with an advanced feel for the game and NBA athleticism. He has been regarded nationally among the elite national prospects for some time now. A highlight reel dunker, similar to NBA star Jalen Green (NBA-Rockets). He has a high skill level that allows him to score the basketball at a high rate. He has a nice shooting stroke with range from the perimeter, and also has developed a very good mid-range game for himself as well. He is very difficult to defend for opposing defenders, as he plays with a love for the game and also plays with excellent energy and a motor, that allows him to make plays at a high rate on the court. A very confident performer that expects the best from himself and his teammates, and has no fear on the court. A future NBA Lottery pick.
