One of the top prospects in Arizona's 2026 Class has emerged this spring and summer a great deal, and is now generating loads of recruiting interest as a result. Brophy Prep's athletically gifted and talented 6-foot-5 rising senior Hale Hansen is set to have a big senior season for Brophy. Hansen is coming off a strong showing this spring and summer on the Under Armor UAA circuit, while competing for one of the elite club programs in the West, the AZ Select. The Select again have had major success on the club circuit this spring and summer - reaching the Final Four of the recent Attitude of Gratitude Summer Classic. Hansen's play has been a major piece for the program. As a result, Hansen is generating loads of Division-I interest, and has received numerous Division-Offers to his credit recently.
Hansen has developed in the right manner over the past several years at Brophy Prep, so his recent success more than makes sense. He has improved a great deal each year I have seen him compete while at Brophy Prep, and now he has taken his game to another level. Hansen had an excellent spring and summer for himself, and also was among the top overall performers in June's Section 7 event - leading Brophy Prep to a strong performance in the event.
As a result of Hansen's strong play this off-season, he has seen his college recruitment begin to soar this summer, as he has received numerous Division-I offers from University of Missouri-Kansas City, Northern Arizona, Idaho, Montana State and Loyola University-Maryland. These are all really good offers for Hansen, especially in an era where high school prospects are not being heavily recruited by Division-I programs.
Hansen is worthy of the recruitment, as he is a tremendous athletic talent with excellent versatility and an ability to make plays with or without the basketball. He plays well above the rim and is a very strong finisher in traffic. He is excellent in the open floor also, where he thrives and is able to make plays. A strong slasher and can produce in the paint or in traffic. Has a good shooting stroke that is still developing, but keeps defenses honest with some nice range on his shot. Has a good mid-range game, which allows him to operate within 15-feet of the basket, and his unique level of length an athleticism allow him to be very productive against opposing defenses. An active rebounder that rebounds outside of his area, and has a relatively high motor. Runs the floor hard. Hansen is an excellent sleeper prospect for a college programs, as he still has serious upside as a prospect, and is just scratching the surface of how good he can eventually become.
Hansen is set to have a big senior season for himself, and will be one of the state's elite performers this high school season. Hansen should post excellent numbers this high school season for Brophy Prep, as Brophy will be very good again this season, and will be in the hunt to repeat for the 6A State Championship, while also competing for an Open Division State Championship. Brophy's state title hopes this season will rely heavily on the play of Hansen, and he should be more than up for the task.
