One of the top overall prospects in Arizona's loaded 2019 CLass of prospects is Hillcrest Prep's 6-foot-6, 205-pound senior guard Devan Cambridge.  Cambridge has flown well below the recruiting radar since moving to the state of Arizona via Tennessee, but he is worthy of serious college attention from division-I programs.  One of the most athletically gifted prospects in the West, Cambridge is a super b talent that should receive loads of recruiting attention this high school season.

Last weekend, Cambridge, one of the most athletic performers in the West, proved it on Saturday, as he helped lead the team to the victory as a result of his defensive tenacity and pressure, and also several explosive tip-dunks over opposition in the game.  His exploits helped lead Hillcrest Prep to a big win over Prolific Prep (CA), 61-59, after a last second tap in from teammate  Andre Harris, after a missed shot by star guard Kyree Walker.  While Harris' basket helped the team to a big win, it was Cambridge's play that really made the difference in the game, especially on the defensive end.

Cambridge is a sure-fire division-I prospect for the future.  His explosiveness as an athlete makes him very attractive to college coaches, while his ability to defend is equally special.  This young man has not yet received his fair share of college recruitment, but it is just a matter of time, as he should garner loads of recruiting attention over time.

Cambridge is not just a normal athlete, as he possesses better than a 40-inch vertical leap and is able to play high above the rim as needed.  He also has a good mid-range game which allows hi mto make plays for himself and others as well in the halfcourt set, but he is at his best in the open floor where he is able to make plays for himself at a high rate.

Currently, Cambridge does not have any offers on the table, but I expect that to change a great deal as the season progresses.  The Hillcrest Prep program is absolutely loaded with talent this season, so I look for Cambridge's recruitment to begin to take off over time.  He is atleast a mid-major prospect, so offers could begin to pur in over the next few months, in preparation for the late signing period.

With many of Arizona's top prospects in the 2019 Class still available, as the early signing period will end this week, Cambridge is definitely one prospect that should benefit this spring.

I will keep a close eye on Cambridge over the next few months, and bring you any recruiting updates on him as they begin to develop.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report:  Cambridge is a super athletic talent that recently re-located to Hillcrest Prep.  A native of Tennessee, Cambridge is a tremendous athlete that plays well above the rim and finishes plays at a high rate in the open floor and while slashing to the basket.  He is a good overall scorer but needs to add more consistency to his perimeter shot over time to maximize his potential as a player.  An excellent defender that plays passing lanes, he has serious potential as a player and is a kid that I would like to see much more of this season.  While he has not attracted much recruiting interest up to this point, look for this young man to garner much recruiting attention throughout the high school season.
