The season off to a great start in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC), as teams are now beginning league play. Cochise College (8-0, 3-0) is in first place among division-I junior colleges, while South Mountain (8-1, 3-0) stands alone in first place among division-II juco's in the league.
Here are the Players of the Week in the ACCAC, as selected by the league . . .
ACCAC D-I Player of the Week: Trevor Irish - Freshman - Central Arizona College
Irish averaged 17.5 points, while shooting 60% from the field, and also averaged 13.5 rebounds, and 4 blocks in two games - leading Central Arizona to 1-1 in conference games on the week and 4-5 overall on the season.
ACCAC D-II Player of the Week: Emanuel Gant - Sophomore - Phoenix College
Gant averaged a triple-double for the week with 11 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 4.5 steals, leading Phoenix College to 2-0 in conference games on the week and 5-3 overall on the season.
